EA to Release a New, Unannounced IP Next Year
EA has teased the existence of an unannounced game which will be released next year.
According to Gamespot, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said "we do have a new IP coming next year. We haven't yet announced it, but it's something that you'll see probably coming up soon."
"Soon" could be referring to E3, which is only a month away. EA has opted not to go with a traditional press conference or booth on the E3 show floor this year, instead opting for a new EA Play event. We could be hearing something about this new IP there.
Beautiful New Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom Screenshots Revealed
A handful of new screenshots from upcoming action-RPG Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom have been revealed.
Looking like a cross between Dragon Quest and Ni No Kuni, the new screens show off some of the environments players will be exploring in the game.
We first learned about Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom back in 2014, where we described it as "Zelda action meets kung-fu combat."
The game comes from French studio Enigami, and it takes place on the planet Mahera. Players will control Chado and his four companions, taking on quests and engaging in dynamic combat which mixes magic with fighting game mechanics.
Is Spider-Man: Dead No More a Sequel to This Controversial Story?
While all eyes are on Civil War II at the moment, Marvel has another major comic book storyline cooking that promises to shake up Spider-Man's world in a big way. "Dead No More" is writer Dan Slott's latest Spidey epic, following a conflict between the hero and a mysterious villain who apparently has the power to raise the dead. If the "Dead No More" teasers are believed, everyone from Gwen Stacy to Doctor Octopus to Uncle Ben himself could soon return to the land of the living.
However, we're not convinced this story will be as straightforward as it seems. We think "Dead No More" could actually be a follow-up to the highly controversial "One More Day" storyline. Sound crazy? Scroll down to see our reasoning for why Peter Parker might be facing a very literal deal with the devil this year.
Rumor: Lionhead Closed Because Microsoft Wouldn’t Sell Fable
Rumours are claiming Microsoft turned down "several potential buyers" for Lionhead Studios before it was closed down last month.
Kotaku UK claims multiple sources told the website that "some of the biggest names in video game publishing" wrote letters of intent (the documents used to signal a serious desire to purchase a company) regarding acquiring the now-shuttered game studio.
According to one source, the complication came when it came to IP - Microsoft would not sell the rights to the Fable series along with the developer that created it. The source said: "90% of the people interested just walked away at that point," despite bids of hundreds of millions of pounds.

The confirmation came in response to a fan question. However, we weren't given any more details on the browser other than it exists, nor whether it would appear on both PC and console versions of the game.

Dark Souls 3 Has Shipped Over 3 Million Copies
Bandai Namco has announced that Dark Souls III has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.
In a recent press release, translated by Gematsu, the company said 500,000 units have shipped in Japan and Asia, 1.5 million in North America, and 1 million in Europe.
In addition, this means shipments of the series as a whole have surpassed 13 million.
Dark Souls III launched worldwide last month, and quickly became Bandai Namco America's fastest-selling game in the company's history. Apparently though, one in 10 players on PC haven't reached Dark Souls III's first bonfire.
Green Lantern Corps Movie Release Date Pushed
Warner Bros. Pictures has bumped the release date of Green Lantern Corps a little bit further down the road.
According to Batman-News (via TheWrap), Green Lantern Corps -- the last of the DCEU movies scheduled through 2020 -- has a new release date of July 24, 2020.
The film had previously been slated for a June 19, 2020 release. The release of Green Lantern Corps will come roughly nine years after the release of the 2011 film starring Ryan Reynolds.
Reports recently claimed that Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller is a contender to direct Green Lantern Corps, but that remains an unconfirmed rumor for now.
SHIELD Showrunners Talk Civil War Crossover Impact
Spoilers for Marvel's Agents of SHIELD and how it connects to Captain America: Civil War continue below, so read on at your own risk.
As the Sokovia Accords divide the Avengers on the big screen, so too are they setting up battle lines on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. Captain America: Civil War's aftershocks reached the MCU TV series in Tuesday's episode -- the third to last of the season -- and there were some pretty major repercussions on Phil Coulson's team.
Showrunners Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon got on the phone to talk about tying SHIELD to Marvel's latest film, and also set up what to expect in next week's two-hour season finale. After "Emancipation," Hive is going to be as troublesome as ever. "Right now he's pretty indestructible," said Whedon, "so we'll see how they tackle that problem."
Godzilla 2 Pushed to 2019, King Kong Team-Up Set for 2020
Godzilla 2 has been pushed back nine months to March 22, 2019, Warner Bros. announced. The company also revealed a release date for Godzilla vs. Kong: May 29, 2020.
As Deadline reports, Godzilla 2's original release date of June 8, 2018 would have put it up against Transformers 6. Director Gareth Edwards' first Godzilla film made over $500 million at the worldwide box office in 2014. Edwards will return for the sequel.
Godzilla vs. Kong, meanwhile, was announced last year as part of Warner Bros. and Legendary's cinematic universe of giant monsters. The companies have remained tight-lipped about the project so far; no casting or behind-the-scenes talent has been announced.
