Star Wars: John Boyega Downplays Finn-Rey Romance

John Boyega has shed light on the future of Finn's relationship with Daisy Ridley's Rey, downplaying the possibility of a developing romance between the two in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

"I mean, we didn’t establish a romance in seven; we never played it that way," the Finn actor told Variety, adding, "Daisy and I, we’re friends."

When asked directly if there's no romantic relationship between the two characters, Boyega replied, "Yes, Finn and Rey – they’re just friends," noting that "Finn is a Stormtrooper, so he doesn’t really know what’s going on."

Fantastic Four Producer Wants to Make ‘Brighter’ Sequel

While 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four film was both a critical and commercial flop when it debuted last year, producer Simon Kinberg says a sequel is still possible and he'd like to bring back the same cast.

New Direction and Murderous Speedster Coming to The Flash

Before the Flash series proper kicks off, there will be two comics to look out for. First is DC Universe: Rebirth #1 (out May 25), which will set the stage for the relaunch by killing off a character, bringing someone back, and revealing the DCU's greatest secret, and then there's The Flash: Rebirth #1 (out June 8), which will pick up on what happened in that book and give readers a taste of what's to come for the main series (which starts June 22).

Godzilla 2 Loses Director Gareth Edwards

Warner Bros. and Legendary need to find a new director for Godzilla 2, as Gareth Edwards has left the project.

According to Deadline, the Edwards' departure was "amicable," as the director behind the 2014 Godzilla reboot has a few small-scale projects of his own that he'd like to pursue after helming Disney's highly anticipated Star Wars film Rogue One.

News of Edwards' exit comes shortly after Warner Bros.' announcement of a nine-month delay for its upcoming monster movie. Instead of going up against Transformers 6 in June 2018, Godzilla 2 will now open in theaters on March 22, 2019.

Legends of Tomorrow Star’s New Status on DC TV Shows

This week's episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow included a pivotal moment that impacted the fate of one particular character. In the wake of that event, series co-creator and executive producer Greg Berlanti has shed light on what's next.

During the episode -- read IGN's review here -- Wentworth Miller’s character Leonard Snart (aka Captain Cold) sacrifices himself in order to defeat Vandal by destroying a device controlling the Legends called the Oculus. In order to destroy the Oculus, a fail safe must be manually held in place, so Snart takes on the task and is killed in the explosion.

Sleepy Hollow Renewed for Season 4

FOX's supernatural television drama Sleepy Hollow has been renewed for a fourth season.

In addition to Sleepy Hollow's renewal, Deadline reports that Minority Report has been officially canceled, joining Bordertown, The Grinder and several other shows among the network's current lineup that won't receive another season.

Warning: Sleepy Hollow: Season 3 finale spoilers below.

FOX's decision to continue Sleepy Hollow for a fourth season is notable, as the show's female lead, Abbie (Nicole Beharie), was killed in the season finale. While Beharie reportedly had asked to leave the series, there was considerable fan outcry over killing Abbie off, given the show had centered on the Abbie/Crane duo.

ABC Renews Dr. Ken and Last Man Standing

After a string of cancellations last night, ABC has now announced a few comedies that will stick around.

EW reports that the Ken Jeong comedy Dr. Ken was renewed for a second season, having averaged 6.1 million viewers this year. The Tim Allen comedy Last Man Standing was also renewed for a sixth season, averaging 8 million viewers. They join several comedies ABC renewed earlier this year, including Modern Family, The Middle, Fresh off the Boat and Black-ish.

Meanwhile, ABC also announced the orders of two new series. Notorious, a lawyer drama based on the real-life criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and cable news producer Wendy Walker, promises a look at the "dangerous interplay of criminal law and the media." ABC also ordered Imaginary Mary, about a woman who falls in love with a divorced dad and then rediscovers her imaginary (and for the purposes of the show, CGI) friend from her childhood to guide her through the relationship.

NBC Cancels Undateable, Telenovela and More

NBC has cancelled a trio of comedies and two freshman dramas.

EW reports that the comedies Telenovela, Undateable, and Crowded were all given the axe today. Undateable was in its third season and experimented with live shows on Friday nights, but failed to pick up a significant audience. Telenovela and Crowded were both mid-season shows that finished their runs with low ratings.

Meanwhile, the thriller Game of Silence only aired seven episodes, logging 0.7 rating among the 18-49 year old demographic over the last five episodes. The medical drama Heartbeat did better with a 1.4 rating, but still fell short and was cancelled.
