Gran Turismo Sport Won’t Have Dynamic Weather

The next entry in the Gran Turismo franchise won't have dynamic time-lapsing or weather.

In an interview with GTPlanet, CEO of Polyphony Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed this news over the weekend.

Yamauchi said: “We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image *during* the race. So the user will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you’ll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on.”

This news will disappoint fans who enjoy the ever-changing nature of Gran Turismo races, but the switch to more constant conditions will apparently improve the technical quality of the game. There will be 19 tracks (including dirt tracks) with 27 possible layouts, and you'll be able to have up to 20 cars on the grid.

Dan Aykroyd: New Ghostbusters Has ‘More Laughs and More Scares’ Than Originals

Original Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd has said that the new Ghostbusters film "has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films".

Writing on his Facebook page, the writer/star of the original two films praised "brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male" after watching a test screening. He even addressed the hilarious elephant in the room, saying that this was despite Bill Murray appearing in the originals.

The new Ghostbusters, which features an all-female lead cast, has attracted criticism from some of the darker corners of the Internet.

If Aykroyd is to be believed, we have a treat in store: "As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see

Fans Protest as Chinese Translations Rename Pokémon Characters

In an effort to translate Pokémon games into traditional and simplified Chinese, Nintendo has essentially renamed Pokémon characters, including Pikachu.

The Pokémon Company recently announced Pokémon Sun and Moon for Nintendo 3DS. These are first Pokémon games to be translated into Mandarin, but in doing so, the efforts overlook Hong Kong's primary language, Cantonese.

According to QZ.com, in Greater China Pokémon will be officially called 精靈寶可夢 -- or "Jingling Baokemeng" in Mandarin (Jingling means “spirit” or “elf,” and Baokemeng is a transliteration of Pokémon).

Deadpool: Stan Lee ‘Mad’ About Strip Club Cameo

Comic book legend Stan Lee recently discussed his cameo in Deadpool, joking that he's "damn mad" about his strip club appearance in Fox's R-rated flick.

"I don't know if I should tell you the truth about that cameo. It will kill all your fun," Lee said in an interview at MegaCon (via The Hollywood Reporter). "I was not in the topless dancing place. I did that in a studio and then they put it into the movie, and I'm damn mad about that!"

He jokingly went on to say he "made them promise" that he'll actually be on location the next time.

Lee then teased several forthcoming cameos, noting he'll soon be traveling to the East Coast to film three cameos. "I've got to be there either next week or the week after, and I'm going to do three cameos for three different movies," he said. "Now, I don't know what the movies are. I don't know what the cameos are, but I know I'll damn well be there."

Creating a Legend: The Inside Story of The Last Guardian

Japan Studio is housed within a nondescript office block a few minutes walk from Shinagawa Station in Tokyo’s Minato ward. At present there’s no signage on the building itself, just a small panel on the sidewalk outside, and the inside proves to be just as low-key. Aside from a reception area with trophies and posters on the walls, this is a restrained, neutral space.

The lack of character is very much at odds with the studio’s output over the years, which has been driven – in large part – by vibrant art and ideas. Japan Studio, after all, created (and co-created) PlayStation exclusives like Ape Escape, Ico, LocoRoco, Echochrome, Tokyo Jungle and Puppeteer. It became known as a go-to for first party quirkiness; for the games that made PlayStation platforms different.

Johnson also laid out some history on the character, writing that Doc Savage was the original inspiration for Superman. "First name Clark, called 'Man of Bronze,' retreats to his 'Fortress of Solitude' in the Arctic," he wrote. "Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen."
