Injustice 2 Won’t Feature Fatalities, Roster Possibly Outed

NetherRealm Studios' recently announced sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us won't feature fatalities.

In an interview with IGN, creative director Ed Boon confirmed Injustice 2's lack of fatalities and also addressed Mortal Kombat X's inclusion of Easy Fatalities, saying "it was a very successful feature in the game, it was hugely successful."

After bringing that to light, Boon was quick to assure fans the studio "will never switch to just one-button fatalities, where a fatality doesn't mean anything."

Additionally, the Mortal Kombat co-creator posted a photo on Twitter of the Injustice 2 t-shirts that will be given away at the Season 3 ESL Mortal Kombat finals this weekend. Upon close inspection, the shirt contains several superhero logos that may offer a few hints as to who will be included in Injustice 2's roster.

HBO’s Westworld Looks Amazing

As part of the "Westerns: Then and Now" panel at the ATX TV festival in Austin this weekend - which included participants from Justified and Hell on Wheels - Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight, Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice) debuted a new sizzle reel for their upcoming HBO series Westworld, based on the Michael Crichton movie about a theme park where guests interact with lifelike robots, inside a detailed recreation of the wild west.

The sizzle reel was great and clearly went over big with the ATX audience, who gave it an enthusiastic response. While it was only screened for those in attendance, and is not being released publicly right now, a description of the footage follows:

Person of Interest Producers Tease Emotional Finale

Person of Interest creator/executive producer Jonathan Nolan and executive producer/showrunner Greg Plageman recently screened the penultimate series episode, ".exe" (which Plageman directed and co-wrote), at the ATX TV festival in Austin, and then sat for a Q&A panel where they teased the upcoming series finale, airing Tuesday, June 21st.

Responding to a fan's question regarding the Finch/Reese relationship that kicked off the series and whether or not the show would circle back to those two core characters, Plageman said "I think you'll be really happy with the finale."

"Or really unhappy," Nolan added, painting a more dire picture for the Team Machine duo.

"We have a long standing tradition of getting people back together," Plageman continued, "and then it doesn't work out so well."

E3 2016: Necropolis is Dark Souls With a Sense of Humor

If you enjoy the Dark Souls series, Necropolis might grab your attention right from the start. The people behind this 3D action adventure take the Souls' tough-as-nails combat, add a pinch of humor, and some slightly harsher consequences: Death doesn’t drop some of your current progress, you lose everything (levels, equipment, and items) and start over form the beginning. Creative Director and co-founder of developer Harebrained Schemes Mitch Gitelman describes it with a succinct pitch that a member of his team came up with: “What would happen if Dark Souls and Spelunky had a baby? And that baby tried to kill you over and over again?” he said.

Did Gambit Lose Another Director?

Doug Liman, who is attached to direct Gambit for 20th Century Fox, is currently in talks to helm Lionsgate's young adult thriller Chaos Walking.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liman is in negotiations to fill the void left by Oscar winner Robert Zemeckis' departure from Lionsgate's post-apocalyptic film project.

The plan is to begin production this fall, making it the second project Liman will have lined up to make this year as filming on Gambit was delayed to late 2016. With Chaos Walking now slated to shoot in that time frame now, it would appear Gambit's production has been further postponed.
