He-Man, ThunderCats Crossover Coming from DC Comics
DC Comics and Mattel have announced a He-Man and ThunderCats crossover miniseries scheduled to debut in October.
The six-part comic book series will be published monthly beginning on October 5. "For everyone out there who took different action figures and teamed them up to take on the world, this one's for you," co-writer Rob David said.

The Syfy Stigma Needs to Go Away
It's been said many times that we live in a golden age of TV. It's also been said we live in the age of too much TV. With every network, streaming service and even gaming console getting in on the original programming game, it's hard to parse out what is worth watching unless it bursts through the pop culture bubble. Even then, if something burns you once, there's little incentive to give it another try; there's enough else out there to watch.
Sci-Fi Channel burned sci-fi fans hard when it became "Syfy" back in 2009, around the time Battlestar Galactica was airing its series finale. Out went quality programming like Ron Moore's critically acclaimed series, and in came reality shows, lighter sci-fi and Sharknado. People went elsewhere to find the types of series they were searching for in the post-BSG void, and Syfy became something of a joke compared to what it once stood for.

Pegg Disagrees with Takei on Gay Sulu
Simon Pegg—co-writer of Star Trek Beyond—agrees with original Hikaru Sulu actor George Takei that it's unfortunate it has taken so long for Star Trek to feature an LGBTQ character. However, he "respectfully disagrees" in regards to Takei's opinion on Star Trek Beyond's reveal that Sulu is gay.
Takei feels the decision to make Sulu openly gay in Star Trek Beyond is disrespectful to creator Gene Roddenberry's vision for the Star Trek universe. After hearing Takei's public response, Pegg is standing by the Star Trek Beyond character.

Emma Watson’s Beauty and the Beast Poster Revealed
Ahead of its theatrical debut next year, the first official poster for Beauty and the Beast has been revealed.
Emma Watson, who stars as Belle in Disney's upcoming live-action adaptation, revealed the poster in a post on Facebook, saying, "Very excited to reveal the first teaser poster for Beauty and the Beast, exclusively for my Facebook fans! Hope you like!"

Halo 5 has Highest Number of Active Players Since Halo 3
Halo 5: Guardians has outstripped every Halo game since 2007 in monthly active users - even before offering the full game as a free trial.
Halo community manager Andy Dudynsky, known on Reddit as bravo343, revealed the fact when responding to a thread about Halo's position in the Xbox One most-played charts.
"This isn't something we've talked about yet," he said, "but I am rather happy to share that even before the free play period, Halo 5 has had the highest monthly active players for a Halo title since Halo 3."
12 Fantastic Overwatch Cosplay
Though Anime Expo is dominated by anime, there still is a large games presence at the convention. The most notable one was easily Blizzard's Overwatch. There was a ton of Overwatch fan art in Anime Expo's Artist Alley, and the Overwatch Cosplay meetup was so huge that the participants had to crowd into the meeting space.

Most Red Dead Redemption DLC Currently Free on Xbox One
After making the much-requested game backwards compatible today, Rockstar has discounted most of Red Dead Redemption's DLC to free on Xbox One.
The Legends and Killers, Liars and Cheats and Outlaws to the End DLC packs come at no cost, as do the Myths and Mavericks and Hunting and Trading expansions.
Not included is the more sizable Undead Nightmare DLC, nor are the smaller cosmetic downloads; War Horse, Golden Guns and Deadly Assassin will all set you back a dollar.
The main game is currently discounted to $10.79 (£8.74) or $7.49 (£6.24) for Xbox Live Gold members, while Undead Nightmare comes in at $9.99 (£6.75).
If you're in the UK, and want to be super-efficient, buying the Undead Nightmare collection - which bundles the main game and the expansion - gets you the lot for £13.49 (the US version doesn't have the same discount, sorry).
Nintendo Shares Rise 10 Percent Thanks to Pokemon Go
Nintendo's share prices are benefiting from the release of new mobile game Pokemon Go.
According to Reuters, shares in Nintendo jumped 10 percent overnight, reaching their highest level in more than two months. Nintendo currently has a market value of $23 billion.
This is all despite Nintendo having not much to do with the augmented reality game where you can catch Pokemon out in the real world. Pokemon Go is from Niantic and The Pokemon Company, however Nintendo does own a stake in each of them.
The game, which launched yesterday in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, is free, however there are microtransactions allowing you to buy extra items. There's no word yet on when it will be coming to other territories, but you can expect it soon.
