Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Release Date Revealed

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will release digitally on August 30. This comes just a few days after the Final Fantasy film will premiere across the US in select theaters on August 19.

News of this release date came during the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV panel at San Diego Comic-Con. In addition to this, there will be Blu-ray and DVD version of the film that will hit on October 4. Of course, the movie features the voices of Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul and Game of Thrones vets Sean Bean and Lena Headey.

Kingsglaive is the companion film to Final Fantasy XV, which releases on September 30. We recently made a trip out to Tokyo and spent a week with the team making a three-part documentary. Check out part 3, which deals with the amazing tech that helped build the entire world.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast Announced

Marvel has confirmed the main cast for Spider-Man: Homecoming, though the roles these actors will be playing have yet to be revealed.

In addition to Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marvel has confirmed the reports that Michael Keaton will star in Homecoming, as well as Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.

Concept art for the movie was also released following Marvel's San Diego Comic-Con panel, showcasing Spidey facing off with Vulture, the film's main villain.

Kurt Russell’s Guardians of the Galaxy Role Revealed

During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, Kurt Russell's role was confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Though we've known Russell would be involved in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 for some time, today we learned he'll be playing the role of Ego, Star-Lord's father.

Elizabeth Debicki was also confirmed to play Ayesha in the film, and Marvel Studios revealed a quick shot of Sylvester Stallone during footage screened at the panel, after months of rumors circulating about the actor.

Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction Coming to Disneyland

At Comic-Con today, Marvel announced that a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction called Mission: Breakout is headed to Disneyland in summer 2017.

Mission: Breakout will take place inside the Collector’s museum and will have guests team up with Rocket Raccoon to set the other Guardians of the Galaxy free. Benicio del Toro will return as the Collector.

“The setting is a kind of fortress that’s owned by the mysterious Collector and it’s packed with creatures and his latest acquisitions from across the universe. Now he has imprisoned the Guardians of the Galaxy and they’re hanging in display cases over a giant abyss,” Joe Rohde, Walt Disney Imagineering portfolio creative director, said in a statement.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Gets a Villain

Looks like Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 has a new, retro-ish logo, and it was shown off at the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.

In addition, a fairly solid casting rumor was confirmed as well, with Elizabeth Debicki finally confirmed as Ayesha. Details are still unclear as to how the film will handle the character, who doesn't have any ties to the Guardians in the Marvel comics.

WWE Comics Coming From BOOM! Studios

Today BOOM! Studios gave fans a peak behind the curtain of their upcoming comic book line based on the world of WWE. The action will begin in November when WWE: Then. Now. Forever. hits the stands.

The panelists, which included BOOM! Studios president of publishing & marketing Filip Sablik, managing editor Bryce Carlson, editor Eric Harburn, artist Dan Mora, and writer Eric Powell, all discussed their various entries into the pro wrestling world, with everyone professing their lifelong love of the sport. Harburn drew a parallel between the worlds of comics and pro wrestling, citing the serialized storytelling and larger than life characters.

Attendees were shown various pieces of artwork featuring the likes of The Undertaker, John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and more. The most popular piece shown was a portrait by Mora of superstar Sasha Banks.

Joss Whedon Down to Direct Black Widow Movie

During an interview with IGN, Joss Whedon said he would be down to direct a Black Widow solo film. He developed and fleshed out the character over the course of two Avengers movies, there's been a huge surge of fans wanting to see her get a solo feature, and he recently said if he ever came back to Marvel that it would be to do something female-driven, so it seems an obvious fit.

“If someone pointed at me and said, ‘Do you want to do a Black Widow movie?’, the answer would be ‘Duh!’” Whedon said (starting at 7:20 below).

The grounded nature of the character (when compared to her superpowered Avengers teammates) is what attracts Whedon to the idea.

“I think that character really is very interesting and very earthbound, so it’s the kind of action that I got to do less of with somebody like Thor or The Vision,” Whedon said. “When you get into your ‘Superman’ territory it’s harder to maintain the gritty action that the Russo brothers do so brilliantly and she’s got that kind of thing and

New Doctor Strange Trailer Revealed

During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 today, Marvel Studios revealed a second trailer for the upcoming film Doctor Strange. The film will be released this fall on November 4.

It was also confirmed that Rachel McAdams will be playing the role of Christine Palmer, one of the three original Night Nurses.

Finally, the official poster showing Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange was released via Twitter.
