Final Fantasy XV Delay Officially Confirmed
Square Enix has officially announced that Final Fantasy XV has been delayed to November 29, 2016 worldwide, confirming rumors that emerged over the weekend.
According to Square Enix, the new date “will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.”
In a statement, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata said the team hopes “to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series" and that they need “a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this.”
Like BvS, Suicide Squad Still No. 1 Despite Giant Drop
Suicide Squad remained the top movie at the North American box office this weekend with an estimated $43.8 million despite a massive 67% second weekend drop.
That's just two points lower than the 69% second weekend drop suffered by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (as well as X-Men Origins: Wolverine).
While Suicide Squad's $222.9 million in domestic grosses after just a week in release is certainly nothing to sneeze at, the film's precipitous second weekend drop further fuels concerns Warner Bros.' DC films are failing to connect with mainstream audiences in a way that guarantees the sort of massive box office returns and widespread appetite for a shared universe their competitor Disney/Marvel enjoys.
Deadpool 2: Rumored Contenders for Cable and Domino
The upcoming Deadpool sequel from 20th Century Fox may have found its Cable in Bloodline star Kyle Chandler.
According to Mashable’s Jeff Sneider on the latest episode of Meet the Movie Press (via HeroicHollywood), Chandler's name has been "floating around for Cable for months." However, Sneider said to "take this with a gigantic grain of salt," as the studio has yet to officially announce who will play Cable.
Final Fantasy XV Takes a Rain Check for November
Square Enix is approaching corporate members of the retail chain GameStop about changing the release date for Final Fantasy XV to November 29, sources say.
According to reports from Kotaku, marketing material instructs how GameStop employees should change the release date on their Final Fantasy XV displays.

An additional two months gives Square Enix precious time to polish up the game. Hopefully, the extra wait will be well worth it. A lot of extra content is also being produced for the game, including some recently revealed DLC for each of Noctis' buddies: Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto.

Making a Murderer Subject Has Conviction Overturned
A federal judge has overturned the conviction against Brendan Dassey, one of the subjects of Netflix's documentary series Making a Murderer.
According to CNN, Dassey's conviction involving the murder of Teresa Halbach was overturned after a confession was obtained, with court documents indicating he has a low IQ. The prosecution has 90 days to bring him back to trial or Dassey will be released.
Dassey was originally sentenced to 41 years in prison after being charged with first-degree homicide, as well as second-degree sexual assault and the mutilation of a corpse.
R2-D2 Actor Kenny Baker Dies
Kenny Baker -- the 3'8"" actor who played the beloved droid R2-D2 in the first six Star Wars films -- has died at the age of 81.
According to the Guardian, Baker passed away after a long illness. The actor had been confined to a wheelchair in recent years due to lung problems.
Baker's niece, Abigail Shield, informed the paper: "It was expected, but it’s sad nonetheless. He had a very long and fulfilled life. He brought lots of happiness to people and we’ll be celebrating the fact that he was well loved throughout the world. We’re all very proud of what he achieved in his lifetime.”
Gotham Star Wants a Young Clark Kent Cameo on Show
I chatted with young Bruce Wayne himself, actor David Mazouz, this past week at FOX's Television Critics Association after party about the Batman prequel TV show's upcoming third season, during which time the actor, 15, revealed his idea for how a young Clark Kent could conceivably appear on the show.
David Mazouz: I think it'd be really cool to have a young Clark Kent on the show. To have a 15-year-old Clark Kent. I know in Batman v Superman they played it like Metropolis and Gotham are twin cities, so it wouldn't be that hard to take a boat ride over for Clark but...
IGN: And Tyler Hoechlin just started playing Superman on Supergirl. Obviously that's on The CW, a separate universe, but is there any sort of crossover you'd love to do? Look, they have Legends of Tomorrow which is a time jumping show. Maybe they find young Batman at some point.
