Mass Effect Remasters ‘Likely’, says EA

EA has had a change of heart about remastering classic games for current-gen consoles.

A year ago, EA's Patrick Söderlund stated that while the company had looked at remastering older games, after weighing up where to invest resources, it decided it was better for developers to "be working on a completely new IP" rather than invest time with remasters.

However, in an interview with Game Informer at this year's Gamescom, Söderlund acknowledged BioWare's Mass Effect series was one the publisher was carefully considering.

Metal Gear Survive Will Not Be A Full-Price Game

Konami has stated that Metal Gear: Survive will not be a full price game.

At the end of an interview with Eurogamer, Konami brand manager Richard Jones mentioned that the developer will not be retailing the upcoming four-player stealth co-op title at full price. He apparently would not go into any further detail on the subject, but made a point of highlighting it.

Survive was announced earlier this week to be the first full Metal Gear game made after series creator Hideo Kojima parted ways with the studio last year.

Blizzard Replaces ‘GG EZ’ Trolling in Overwatch With Embarrassing Alternatives

An update for the Public Test Realm (PTR) version of Overwatch on PC now switches the expression "gg ez" with alternate, and occasionally embarrassing, replacements.

Players on Reddit have discovered writing the term - which stands for "good game, easy" - will now be replaced by statements such as "It was an honor to play with you all. Thank you," "I'm wrestling with some insecurity issues in my life but thank you all for playing with me," "I feel very, very small... please hold me", and "Mommy says people my age shouldn't suck their thumbs."

Right now the change only affects PTR, but as the patch notes make no reference to it, as yet we're unclear if this may be rolled out across all versions.

Steep Is at Its Extreme Best When You’re Winging It

It was on my third run down one of Steep’s opening wingsuit runs that I really got a real jolt of adrenaline. My first two attempts to fly down one of the many craggy crevices carved into the side of Austria’s Hohe Tauern mountain range were met with a pair of carbon copy demises as I swerved to miss a jagged outcrop and violently kissed the piste. But on the third time I got a feel for the nuanced midair movement of my Michael Bay-approved sky suit, and learned to subtly shift my avatar’s body with the right stick while steering with the left in order to contort my way through the narrowest of gaps in the downhill terrain. By the time I’d fallen with style all the way to the finish line and popped my parachute, I was hooked.

Thor’s Portman Believes She’s ‘Done’ With Marvel

Following confirmation earlier this year that Natalie Portman won't appear in Thor: Ragnarok, the actress has come forward to address her future in the MCU, saying she doesn't expect to return in a Marvel movie anytime soon.

When asked by The Wall Street Journal (via Heroic Hollywood) if she'll ever reprise her role as Dr. Jane Foster, Portman replied, "I don’t know if, maybe, one day they’ll ask for an Avengers 7 or whatever. I have no idea! But as far as I know I’m done."
