Blizzard Announces Hearthstone Arena Mode Changes
Hearthstone's Arena mode is in for an overhaul. A whole bunch of cards are being removed in efforts to balance the game in an upcoming patch, Blizzard has revealed.
In a new blog post, Hearthstone designer Dean Ayala notes that Blizzard Entertainment has been working to address the discussion surrounding Hearthstone's Arena game mode. It's been set up to have a "meaningfully different" feel than Constructed, Solo Adventures, and Tavern Brawl, Ayala said. Blizzard is focused on creating a "wide range of experiences within each game mode" and believes this is where Arena "has room for improvement."
Dawn of the Devs Features Kojima, Miyamoto Parodies
Dawn of the Devs, a new game seeking Kickstarter funding, offers players the chance to control parodies of famous game developers on a quest to save the World of Gaming.
As revealed by the Kickstarter campaign, which has a $65,000 goal, Dawn of the Devs features takes on Hideo Kojima, Cliff Blezinski, and Tim Schafer as its main playable characters — named Hiro Komiya, Biff Klozinski, and Tom Schiffer, respectively.
The new 2D puzzle platformer throws these parody game developers into the Wicked World of Gaming, a once peaceful world now taken over by the Chief Evil Overlord (or C.E.O.), who has brought "every negative aspect of the game industry" to life. The characters themselves are game developers who will travel throughout the world's various lands, including the Console and Computer Church and The Gameyard, which are each meant to represent a different facet of game development.
NASA Worried About Contaminating Water On Mars
After four years on Mars, NASA's rover, Curiosity, may need to have its course diverted to avoid contaminating what is suspected to be water.
Between February and July 2012, dark streaks on a hillside on Mars noticeably 'grew', in ways that appeared to be like flowing water. We can't technically confirm that it was, though, since strict international rules prevent Curiosity from touching any kind of liquid on Mars, but those dark streaks have appeared all over in the planet in the past four years - a total of 452 possible 'recurring slope lineae' (or RSL, as they're called), have been found.
New DC Comic to Explore Supergirl’s Origin
Today DC announced a new comic book mini-series called Supergirl: Being Super that will reexamine the origin story of Kara Zor-El.
Being Super is similar to last year's Superman: American Alien in that it's an out-of-continuity story that explores Supergirl's formative years. This four-issue series will be written by Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer) and drawn by the newly DC-exclusive Joelle Jones (Ladykillers).

. In the future we’re going to try to squeeze that in and try to get the dub out as fast as humanly possible every week,” Funimation CEO Gen Fukunaga told IGN. “Since we can’t dub as fast as we can subtitle, the likely scenario we’re looking at is Crunchyroll takes the lead with the subtitled version up on their site before the dub is completed.”
Previously, a new anime season’s 50 or so shows were split between Crunchyroll and Funimation as the sites acquired their licenses, Crunchyroll Founder and GM Kun Gao told IGN.

In addition to confirming Ben Affleck's previous social-media tease that Deathstroke will appear in the aforementioned standalone film, Johns revealed in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that Manganiello will be taking on the villainous role.

Geoff Johns on Bringing Hope and Optimism to the DCEU
DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and veteran Warner Bros. executive Jon Berg, who came aboard to co-run DC Films in May, have a clear mission: To make the DC Extended Universe lighter and more hopeful going forward.
“Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong,” Johns told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”
