Gears of War 4 Updates Will Adjust Balance, Quitting Penalties

Upcoming Gears of War 4 updates will fix key balancing issues as well as address harsher quitting penalties, matches starting without a full amount of players, and more.

In a detailed forum post, community manager Adam Fletcher listed "top level items" that developer The Coalition is working on.

Firstly, the next big title update will balance the Hammerburst weapon, which has been "a big pain point amongst those in Core and Social," according to Fletcher. No word was given on how the weapon will be balanced, but Fletcher notes the developer has "some tuning coming up." Additional changes are also planned for the competitive Lancer and Gnasher.

As for the other half, The 100: Season 3 arrives, along with movies like Boyhood, Ravenous, Paddington, Burn After Reading, The African Queen, Cujo, The Doors and more.

Amazon, Reddit, Netflix and More Suffer Outages

If you had trouble this morning accessing some of your favorite websites, it's not just you. A dedicated denial of service attack has taken out many of the internet's most popular sites.

Among the affected websites are Amazon, Netflix, Twitter, and Reddit. Services such as Sony's PlayStation Network are also under attack.

Internet infrastructure company DynDNS reports on its company Twitter account it's currently dealing with the attacks, and updates can be seen on its status page. However, Dyn's page is also down.

CNN reports the attacks began this morning and mainly affected the east coast of the United States. As of yet, no responsibility has been claimed for the attacks, but an official told CNN the US government "looking at all possible scenarios including possible cyber activity."

Opinion: DC’s Bane Is Ready for a Rebirth

Batman has what might be the most iconic rogues gallery in superhero comics, if not all of pop culture. Villains like Joker, Two-Face and Catwoman are a huge reason the Batman franchise has remained so popular over the decades. It's not easy for newer characters to earn a membership in that elite club, but Bane destroyed all barriers as easily as he snapped Batman's spine. The massive Knightfall crossover cemented Bane's status as one of the great Batman villains. So why is he so rarely treated with the respect he deserves?

Personally, I have a strong attachment to Bane, as Knightfall was all the rage when I was first dipping my toes into the waters of monthly superhero comics. Here was a villain who looked terrifying and imposing on every page. Here was a man who managed to do what even Joker couldn't - defeat Batman and leave him physically and psychologically shattered. And even as the impact of Knightfall receded and Bruce Wayne reclaimed his mantle, Bane was a villain I eagerly followed in subsequent comic book appearances, his Batman: The Animated Series debut and his sorry showing in 1997's Batman & Robin.

Titanfall 2 Multiplayer: Bigger… and Better?

Like the original, the duality of switching between Titanfall 2’s nimble pilots and monstrous titans is at the heart of what makes its multiplayer great. The sequel’s additions and changes, while significant, do little to distract from this brilliant gameplay loop. The pilot's ability to effortlessly traverse terrain is still remarkably fluid when the map allows for it, and titans feel like a more permanent investment thanks to rodeo changes and the advent of batteries.

Titan loadouts as they existed in the original have been scrapped in favor of six unique archetypes, each with a charismatic and thematically appropriate designation. Scorch launches thermite, Ronin wields a flashy sword, and Ion evaporates enemies with a giant laser erupting from its chest. This change may seem like a step backwards where customization is concerned, but the ability to identify an enemy titan’s capabilities at a glance is well worth the sacrifice. Increased readability is present on foot too, as each pilot’s character model is directly linked to their tactical ability. A pilot draped an exotic fur for instance has the capability to cloak.
