Single-Hero Limit Coming to Overwatch Quick Play
Overwatch's Quick Play mode will have a single-hero limit, Blizzard announced today during its Overwatch panel at BlizzCon 2016.
In addition, the Overwatch development team shed light on the game's upcoming Arcade mode, which will feature a no-limits option when selecting heroes.
Blizzard didn't provide a specific release date for these new additions, but said fans can expect Arcade mode—along with the brand-new character Sombra—to launch on the Public Test Realm next week. Meanwhile, the upcoming map, Oasis, will be available sometime in December.
The Flash Actress Finds Director’s Exit ‘Very Upsetting’
One of the stars of Warner Bros.' upcoming movie version of The Flash is going on the record about the departure of its director, Rick Famuyiwa, who exited the DC Comics adaptation this week citing "creative differences."
Actress Kiersey Clemons, who starred in Famuyiwa's film Dope and will play the superhero's love interest Iris West in The Flash, told The Hollywood Reporter, "Rick was one of the main reasons I wanted to do the movie ... So him not being a part of it is obviously very upsetting to me."

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has a long life ahead of it, as FX Productions announced earlier this year that its popular comedy series has been renewed for a thirteenth and fourteen season.

Voltron: David Hayter Scripting Live-Action Movie
Universal Pictures is working on a live-action version of Voltron, with former Solid Snake voice actor David Hayter scripting the film.
Deadline reports Universal inherited the Voltron movie project after purchasing DreamWorks Animation earlier this year.
Hayter, who's also known for writing X2: X-Men United and Watchmen, is currently developing a draft of the script.
The franchise is currently on the small screen with Voltron: The Legendary Defenders. Developed at DreamWorks Animation, the second season of the animated series premieres January 20 on Netflix.
Justice League Casts GoT Vet as Villain Steppenwolf
The Justice League movie has reportedly found its Steppenwolf.
According to TheWrap, actor Ciaran Hinds (known to many fans as Mance Rayder on Game of Thrones and Aberforth Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2) plays the DC supervillain via performance-capture not unlike Josh Brolin as Thanos in the MCU.
Justice League recently wrapped production so Hinds has already filmed his scenes as Steppenwolf.
The alien character first appeared in a deleted scene with Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but TheWrap claims "Steppenwolf’s look will be upgraded from his first appearance in the DC Films universe."
The Simpsons Renewed Through Season 30
The Simpsons is on track to break a major TV record, as the hit animated series has been renewed for both seasons 29 and 30.
As noted by TheWrap, the renewal of Fox's long-running comedy show will bring the series' episode total to a whopping 669 episodes. As such, The Simpsons will soon be the new record holder for the most episodes ever for a scripted primetime show, surpassing Gunsmoke's 635-episode record.
"This is yet another record-setting moment for what is truly a landmark series," Fox co-chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman said in a statement. "The Simpsons has meant so much to the network, the studio and everyone at Fox, and its continued cultural impact around the globe is a testament to the combined brilliance of Matt (Groening), Jim (James L. Brooks), and Al (Jean)."
X-Men’s Olivia Munn in Talks for The Predator
Oliva Munn is in negotiations to star in The Predator, the upcoming reboot of the 1987 alien action horror film.
Munn, who is coming off of her role as Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse, will play a scientist and star alongside Boyd Holbrook (Narcos), who will play a Special Forces commando according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Although little is known about the plot, THR says the alien hunter will be brought to a suburban setting.
The Predator is being directed by Shane Black and co-written by Black and Fred Dekker. The film is set to begin filming in February, 2017.
New Diablo 3 Character Class Revealed
The Necromancer class is coming to Diablo III, Blizzard announced today during its BlizzCon 2016 keynote.
The class is coming to the game as part of the "Rise of the Necromancer" character pack featuring "other great features" in 2017. The pack includes a new in-game pet, "two additional character slots, two additional stash tabs (on PC)," along with a "portrait frame, pennant, banner, and banner sigil."
Blizzard half-jokingly said the addition of the Necromancer class was part of a "thorough, in-depth analysis" of players' most requested character class.
WoW Lead Designer Allen Adham Returns to Blizzard
After departing Blizzard back in 2004, co-founder Allen Adham has returned to the company.
Blizzard shared the news of Adham's return today during its opening ceremony at BlizzCon 2016. In addition to being the lead designer on World of Warcraft, Adham worked on several of Blizzard's earlier titles, including the first two Warcraft games, as well as the original StarCraft.
Adham has been back at the studio for just under three months, and is currently at work on new projects, which he's remaining tight-lipped about. "I've been coached not to say too much, especially given the role that I'm in," Adham said in an interview with Polygon. "So, I’ll just leave it at: We are working on a bunch of cool new stuff.
Original Diablo Is Playable in Diablo 3 Next Week
In celebration of Diablo's 20th anniversary, the original Diablo is coming to Diablo III, Blizzard's Chief Development Officer Frank Pearce announced at BlizzCon 2016.
The original Diablo is playable in the Darkening of Tristrom Diablo anniversary patch. The area features the four main bosses from the first game, the original music, and graphics filters to make Diablo III look like the original. The dungeon is 16 levels deep, and player character movement is limited to eight directions like it was in the original.
The patch will be on the Public Test Realm next week.
