The Sega Mega Drive Is Getting a Re-Release in Brazil

Due to huge demand, tech manufacturer Tectoy will release a new, fully licensed version of the 28 year-old Sega Mega Drive (known as the Genesis in North America) in Brazil.

As reported by Gizmodo, the Mega Drive continues to sell around 150,000 units a year in Brazil (equivalent to the number of PS4s sold), due in part to Sega definitively winning the Sega-Nintendo "console war" in the country.

Tectoy's new version of the console will retail at approximately USD $120, come installed with 22 games (including Altered Beast, Golden Axe and Sonic 3), and be fully compatible with original cartridges - it will not, however, support HDMI playback, using the original console's AV cables.

New Metro Game Seemingly Coming Next Year

It looks as though the next installment in the Metro franchise will release in 2017.

The news comes via the Metro 2035 website, which promotes the final entry in the Dmitry Glukhovsky novel series (which subsequently spawned 4A's tie-in games).

The website also features a timeline of when both the books and the games were released and indicates a new game will be coming in 2017.

Coming in 2017, apparently. Coming in 2017, apparently.

What We Want in Doctor Strange 2

Yes, Marvel Studios has not yet officially announced a sequel yet to Doctor Strange, but when your latest movie makes $85 million domestically in its opening weekend and roughly $332 million worldwide so far then a second installment seems like the safest of bets. (Indeed, Ant-Man made almost $30 million less than Doctor Strange did in its opening weekend and that's getting a sequel.)

So what would we like to see Marvel do in a potential Doctor Strange 2? Here are some ideas we conjured up ...

Michael Keaton’s Spider-Man Villain Confirmed

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has confirmed that Michael Keaton will indeed star as Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

When asked by the Toronto Sun about the upcoming villains set to appear in the MCU, Feige said, "We’ve had a wish list and most of them in the near-term are coming together. Cate Blanchett is playing Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man is something."

While Marvel Studios previously confirmed that Keaton will indeed star in Spider-Man: Homecoming, until now the studio has remain tight-lipped on who he'll play.

Rocket, Groot Inspired Doctor Strange’s Breakout Character

Spoilers follow for Doctor Strange.

One of the standout characters in Marvel’s Doctor Strange isn’t really a character at all… at least, not in the traditional sense. It’s actually a cloak; the title sorcerer’s Cloak of Levitation to be exact. But despite the mystical garment’s distinctly unique state of being -- or perhaps because of it -- the thing has already become a fan favorite aspect of the film, bringing some unexpected CGI-fueled humor and action to the adventures of the latest MCU hero much in the way Rocket and Groot did in Guardians of the Galaxy.

I recently spoke with Stephane Ceretti, the visual effects supervisor on both Doctor Strange and Guardians, and he explained how Rocket and Groot in fact helped feed into the creation of the cloak.

Arrow: Mr. Terrific Has a Tough Road Ahead

From the moment he was introduced in Arrow's fourth season, DC Comics fans wondered when Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) would become his comic book alter ego, Mr. Terrific. Season 5 has provided that answer, with Curtis joining a new team of young heroes, as Oliver tries to mold them into a more formidable group – with Curtis still having plenty to learn.

At Arrow’s recent 100th episode celebration in Vancouver -- that episode airs November 30th, as part of a big crossover with the other CW/DC series -- I spoke to Kellum about Curtis’ journey and why both he and his character are so excited about everything happening.
