Legends of Tomorrow: Season 2 Gets Additional Episodes

The second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow will be a bit longer, as The CW has ordered an extra four episodes for its comics-inspired superhero show.

As reported by Variety, Season 2 will now span a total of 17 episodes. It's worth noting that because Legends of Tomorrow was a midseason show in its first season, it initially received a 13-episode order for the fall.

Legends of Tomorrow is one of many DC shows on The CW that are continuing on for another full season. Arrow: Season 5 and The Flash: Season 3 will each span 23 episodes, while Supergirl: Season 2 will have 22 episodes in total. Meanwhile, the fates of Frequency and No Tomorrow have yet to be decided by the network.

Westworld: Will Maeve Get Found Out?

In the last episode of Westworld, "The Adversary," Thandie Newton's enlightened host, Maeve, managed to threaten her way into a massive intelligence upgrade.

These new images from Sunday's new episode, “Trompe L’Oeil," seem to suggest though that her time as a free(ish) bot are numbered as a squad of fully-suited techs enter her saloon, looking for something.

Check out the photo gallery, and the trailer, below...

The official synopsis for "“Trompe L’Oeil" reads:

Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and William (Jimmi Simpson) journey into treacherous terrain; Maeve (Thandie Newton) delivers an ultimatum; Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) considers his next move.

San Francisco-based studio Campo Santo has today confirmed it has added a new “objective-free” free-roam mode to its well-received first-person adventure game Firewatch.

Firewatch’s free-roam mode features dynamic 24-hour time of day effects and will be unlocked after you’ve finished the game (it is available in the special features section of the main menu).

Spider-Man: Homecoming: Zendaya’s Role ‘Not Romantic’

While many have suspected Zendaya will serve as Peter Parker's love interest Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actress has come forward to dash such suspicions, saying her character is not the romantic type.

When asked by The Hollywood Reporter if her character, reportedly named Michelle, will be romantically involved with Tom Holland's Peter Parker, Zendaya laughed and said "No. My character is not romantic."

While the actress is rumored to be playing a very familiar character in the universe, Zendaya remained tight-lipped about the character's identity. That said, she did describe the personality of her character, calling her "very dry, awkward, intellectual and because she's so smart, she just feels like she doesn't need to talk to people."

Spider-Man Star Tom Holland on Marvel Movie Contract

In addition to his leading role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker star Tom Holland is on board for several more appearances in the MCU, and has now shed light on just how many.

"I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted," Holland told The Hollywood Reporter. The actor noted that Marvel has given him options that "could be exercised whenever," using a cameo in Avengers as an example.

With regard to which upcoming MCU movies he's set to appear in, Holland didn't provide any specific films, saying he's "unclear" at the moment.

What Would-Be Superman Nic Cage Thought of BvS

Back when he was still a box office draw, Nicolas Cage was set to play Superman in a movie that was to have been directed by Tim Burton.

The movie never happened and its storied legacy became the subject of the 2015 documentary The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? (read our review here).

Cage eventually played a different comics character, Ghost Rider, but his brush with superhero cinema and self-professed lifelong comic book fandom has guaranteed that he'll be asked about the subjects at seemingly every interaction with the geek press.

How Doctor Strange’s Big Bad Was Created

Spoilers follow for Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange is a hit, and certainly part of the reason for the film’s success is its exploration of a new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- the world of magic and the mystical that until now has existed at the periphery of the franchise at best.

Obviously one of the major challenges of the film was in the creation of those magical and other-dimensional beings, acts, and realms, and that’s where visual effects supervisor Stephane Ceretti came in. I spoke to Ceretti recently about this task, as well as the design of Doctor Strange’s surprise villain, Dormammu. Marvel had kept the CG character’s presence secret up to the film’s release, but the inclusion of the dread one hits an important part of the Strange mythology while also serving as a great third-act face-off between the hero and villain.

How the US Wizarding World is Different From Harry Potter’s

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them offers a huge expansion of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, taking place not just in another era from the Harry Potter stories but in a location – North America – the Potter books and films never ventured to.

So just what sets this area of the Wizarding World apart from what we saw before? A lot, as it turns out. Yes, there are similar basic trappings – including a school, Ilvermony, with four different houses and a government body, the Magical Congress of the United States of America (AKA the MACUSA), that functions much like the Ministry of Magic. But there are specifics about how these communities grew and function that make things very different in ways that go beyond using the term "No-Maj" instead of "Muggle" for non-magical people.
