Telltale’s Marvel Game Seems to be Guardians of the Galaxy
You may remember that, last year, Telltale Games and Marvel Games announced a partnership for a game with a 2017 release - then went completely silent about it. It seems that game will be based around the Guardians of the Galaxy.
As spotted by ComicBookMovie, a list of in-development projects released by SAG-AFTRA - the voice actors' union currently on strike in hopes of a better deal from video game companies - outs "Guardians of the Galaxy - The Video Game a/k/a Blue Harvest".
Key Watch Dogs 2 Multiplayer Features Currently Disabled
Watch Dogs 2's seamless multiplayer features are currently disabled, with no ETA on when they will be reinitialised, just a day before the open world game's launch.
According to an in-game notice (below), the features are currently causing the game to "lag and crash periodically", and have been disabled until the problem is fixed.
Dishonored 2 Final Review
No two playthroughs are the same in Dishonored 2. Developer Arkane has doubled down on the original’s play-your-way formula with two separate sets of skills, a deep and multifaceted world, and a dizzying array of level designs that affect your approach to each new area. Whether you choose a stealthy or bloody approach, each one of your playthroughs is an addition to the wide range of stories that can be told within this wonderfully twisted universe.
15 years have gone by since the events of the original Dishonored, and the world of Empress of the Isles, Emily Kaldwin, is once again thrown into disarray when her evil aunt appears with suspicious designs on her throne. It’s a pedestrian catalyst to your most vital decision in Dishonored 2: will you play as Emily or her father and protector (and original Dishonored protagonist), Corvo Attano? Though their stories play out in much the same way, with well-crafted and low-key dialogue tailored to your character, it’s worth taking time to consider your choice, as it’s one you are stuck with for the rest of your 12 to 16-hour playthrough, depending on whether you choose high-chaos (quicker) or low (slower).
Walking Dead Just Resolved a Long Unanswered Question
Ever wonder who Judith's father actually is? The Walking Dead finally set the record straight in Sunday's episode, "Service."
Full spoilers for The Walking Dead continue below.
It's been a while since The Walking Dead spent much time reflecting on original main characters Shane and Lori, but Rick got introspective about his now-dead best friend and wife during the fourth episode of Season 7. They were brought up as Rick was trying to explain to Michonne his decision to bend a knee to Negan, retelling the story of how Shane and Lori hooked up way back in the events of Season 1 when they thought he was dead.
The point of the story was how Rick had to come to terms with the fact Lori and Shane were intimate, and that she then got pregnant with a child who wasn't his. His decision to raise and love Judith as his own so he could live his life is his explanation for why the Alexandrians need to accept Negan's rule, but there's no glossing over the fact The Walking Dead dropped the bombshell that Judith is definitely Shane's daughter.
TWD: Negan’s Visit Has One Key Change from the Comics
Full spoilers for The Walking Dead's latest episode, "Service," and for the comics continue below.
Like many key episodes from The Walking Dead, Negan's first visit to Alexandria plays out surprisingly similar in the AMC TV show compared to how it occurred in the comics. But there's one key element from the source material that wasn't included in this episode, which puts all of "Service" into better context.
Click on the arrow to progress through the below slideshow and see how Negan's visit to Alexandria in the TV show compares to the comics, both with its many similarities and with that one huge reveal that the show didn't give away. Due to the graphic nature of both The Walking Dead comics and TV show, the slideshow below contains strong language.
Better Call Saul Creators on Gus Fring’s Looming Presence
On Tuesday, November 15th, Better Call Saul: Season Two arrives on Blu-ray and DVD, including plenty of bonus features to dive into, including cast and crew commentaries on all 10 episodes, a gag reel, a table read with the cast for the episode “Switch,” and two featurettes - plus the Blu-ray features more exclusive content, including additional featurettes, interviews and a set tour.
In conjunction with the new Better Call Saul release, I spoke to series creators/executive producers Vince Gilligan (Breaking Bad) and Peter Gould (Breaking Bad) about the huge way Season 2 ended and whether or not we could expect to see Breaking baddie Giancarlo Esposito's Gus Fring in Season 3.
Doctor Strange Remains Box Office Sorcerer Supreme
Doctor Strange had a strong second weekend in domestic theaters, placing first at the box office yet again, earning $43 million.
Marvel Studios' latest film—whose domestic debut last week eclipsed the opening weekends of Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Ant-Man—has currently earned a grand total of $153 million in North America.
Meanwhile, Paramount's critically acclaimed sci-fi film Arrival debuted in third place, just behind Trolls, which held strong in second with $35.1 million. As noted by Variety, the Amy Adams-led movie from director Denis Villeneuve (Sicaro, Prisoners) was expected to make just $16 million during its opening weekend, but exceeded expectations with an opening haul of $24 million.
Arrival Writer on Creating One of 2016’s Best Films
Director Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival is not only one of the best-reviewed films of the year, but is already being proclaimed as one of the best sci-fi films of the 21st century. Following a group of scientists hired by the military to try and interpret the language of the new aliens that have landed on Earth, it’s the kind of intelligent, tense, and emotional film that has gotten sci-fi fans everywhere buzzing about its quality.
As anyone familiar with Ted Chiang’s “Story of Your Life” (the short story that inspired the film) can attest to, screenwriter Eric Heisserer had his hands full in bringing Arrival to the big screen. Adapting from an already high-concept short story into a feature film is no easy task, though the critical reception and awards hype surrounding it makes it seem like Heisserer’s work more than paid off.
