Nier: Automata Getting Final Fantasy XV Crossover Weapon
Square Enix and Platinum Games have announced a crossover collaboration that will feature content from Final Fantasy XV in Nier: Automata, and vice versa.
Early next year, Notics' Engine Blade will be a featured weapon in Nier: Automata, which can be used by the game's protagonist 2B. In addition to changing up the evasion effects, the way the Engine Blade displays damage when used by 2B will match the style seen in Square's role-playing game.
Content from the Nier series is also planned to be featured in Final Fantasy XV, details on which will be revealed at some point in the future.
Nier: Automata doesn't have a specific release date, but is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 4 and PC sometime during the first quarter of 2017. Read IGN's hand-ons Nier: Automata impressions to find out why Bayonetta and God of War fans might love this game.

Boba Fett Movie Announcement Cancelled “at the Last Minute”
Not only was the long-rumored Boba Fett Star Wars Anthology movie a going concern, but a teaser reel was prepped to be shown at Star Wars Celebration 2015 alongside an official announcement, before being axed "at the last minute" following a split between Disney and mooted director Josh Trank.
This comes courtesy of Entertainment Weekly sources, who say that the project has now been backburnered. Trank seemingly left the project after the troubles he faced on the latest Fantastic Four film.

The Goon sequel marks the directorial debut of Jay Baruchel, who co-wrote the script for the original Goon with Evan Goldberg and has also written Goon: Last of the Enforcers with Jesse Chabot.
Baruchel will also be back in front of the camera, alongside returning stars Seann William Scott, Alison Pill, Liev Schreiber, Marc-André Grondin, Kim Coates, and more. Joining the cast are Elisha Cuthbert and Wyatt Russell.
Goon: Last of the Enforcers checks into Canadian theatres on March 17, 2017. The release date in other territories is yet to be confirmed.

Alien: Covenant Poster Comes With a Warning
20th Century Fox just dropped the official poster and release date for its next entry in the Alien franchise, Alien: Covenant.
The poster, which features a threatening close-up of a Xenomorph, simply says 'run'. At the bottom the May 19th release date is revealed.
Though a sequel to the somewhat divisive Prometheus, the poster suggests Covenant may be going back to Alien's old-school horror roots. Covenant star Michael Fassbender recently opened up about a twist on his character in the new film, as well as the new name for Xenomorphs.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Venom #1!
Fans have been wondering if the new series would star a familiar face like Eddie Brock or Mac Gargan or if an entirely new character would take up the Venom mantle. As it turns out, the latter is the case. The symbiote has been passed on to a completely new character named Lee Price. Like previous host, Flash Thompson, Lee is a disabled military veteran, though he lacks Flash's strong moral compass.

Overwatch: Evidence of Christmas Event Discovered
A new mode and Christmas event could soon be coming to Overwatch, if recently discovered sound files for the game are any indication.
The files, which were posted by Reddit user Venxa, include clips for new hero interactions, as well as a Christmas jingle, which NeoGAF user Nirolak notes is likely for a holiday-themed event.
An Arena mode could be on the way as well, with several new announcer lines for Athena surfacing, including ones for "Now entering the arena" and "Gladiator." There's also a sound clip, which, the person who discovered the files suggests, could be the loading music for this new mode.
Could Injustice 2 Feature Watchmen Characters?
Characters from Alan Moore's Watchmen series may appear in next year's fighting game, Injustice 2.
This theory is based on a poll posted on Twitter from Netherrealm Studios' Creative Director Ed Boon, asking if fans wanted to see Watchmen characters in the sequel to the 2013 video game. As of writing, the vote sits at 74% 'yes' after 19,682 votes.
While many see Watchmen as sacrosanct, it's not the first time the Watchmen have appeared outside of Moore's seminal '80s series. Aside from the Zack Snyder film in 2009, the Watchmen have appeared in a 2008 motion comic, 2009 episodic video game, 2012 prequel series and most recently, alluded to in DC Rebirth, where it seems they'll be intergraded with other DC heroes.
