Han Solo Movie Debut Rumored to Move to Christmas 2018

Disney's upcoming Han Solo movie may no longer debut in May of next year, as a possible release date shift to December 2018 is rumored to be in the works.

According to Making Star Wars, sources from within the movie theater industry have told the website that the film will now reportedly release on December 13, 2018 as opposed to its current May 25, 2018 release date.

The outlet notes that the paperwork allegedly containing the December date states the release is subject to change.

Wrap Your Head Around Samsung’s New Curved Gaming Monitors

Samsung announced several new quantum dot curved monitors designed for gaming. Samsung's new curved monitors have a maximum resolution of 2,560x1,440 and a 178-degree viewing angle. The monitors are designed to be an aesthetically pleasing pieces of decor, featuring a "clean, white chassis" and "three-sided boundless design." The monitors utilize quantum dot technology, a display technology that offers a more pure color reproduction than LCD, meaning a wider color gamut is possible, as well as more vibrant colors.

The CH711 monitor will be available in both 27 and 31.5-inch sizes when it goes on sale "early 2017." Samsung is also showing off its CFG70 and CF791 quantum dot curved monitors at CES 2017. The CFG70 comes in 24 and 27-inch models, and the 34-inch CF791 has a 21:9 aspect ratio. Both became available in December 2016, and will be on display at Samsung's CES 2017 booth at Booth 15006 in Central Hall. Additionally, Samsung is showing off its next line of high-resolution, quick-response monitors, the UH750 and SH850.

Nvidia Announces GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti Laptops

In the build up to CES 2017, Nvidia has revealed its GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti graphics cards are making their way into gaming laptops.

Boasting the same gaming experience as the original desktop models, the laptop-based cards will pack all the features associated with its Pascal-based desktop brethren: GPU overclocking, DirectX 12, Ansel screenshots, G-Sync, and the Nvidia GeForce Experience.

New Movie Franchise Coming from Deadpool Creator

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld is partnering with Shangai-based Fundamental Films to develop an Extreme Universe movie franchise.

Extreme Universe consists of several comics published by Liefeld's Extreme Studios that are all set in a single universe. There are a total of nine comic book titles that include characters such as Bloodwulf, Kaboom, Bloodstrike, Brigade, Lethal, Re-Gex, Nitro-Gen, and Cybrid. They're all written in a similar subversive style as Deadpool, the character that Ryan Reynolds' and Fox turned into the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever.

The Wrap reports that Liefeld, who's also credited with creating Marvel's Cable and X-Force, will produce the films along with Brooklyn Weaver (Extant, Run All Night), Graham King (Allied, Tomb Raider), and Akiva Goldsman (The Dark Tower), with Goldsman in charge of the scripts and writers room for the entire franchise.

Overwatch Gets a New Control Map

Oasis is the newest control map in Overwatch.

Available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the Overwatch arena sees players battling it out in an advanced city set in the Arabian desert. There are three different control points to defend on Oasis, along with traffic to avoid and jump pads to use.

Blizzard Entertainment also offered an official synopsis for Oasis:

"Researchers and academics from around the region came together to found a city dedicated to scientific progress without restraints — a monument to human ingenuity and invention. The city and its inhabitants are governed by the Ministries, a collection of brilliant minds who possess many secrets that have attracted the interest of powerful organizations from around the world."

Game of Thrones’ ‘Size and Scale’ Is Increasing in Season 7

Game of Thrones: Season 7 has a shorter episode order than any of its previous seasons, but it's all for good reason. Even though Season 7 will be seven episodes instead of the typical 10, the series will be taking the same amount of production time on this season as earlier years. In simpler terms: more time is going to be spent making each episode in Season 7 to result in even bigger and more epic episodes.

"I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created it’s just getting more and more extraordinary and they feel they need that time to shoot seven hours as opposed to 10," actor Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, told Radio Times.

Persona 5, Yakuza 0 Not Coming to Nintendo Switch or PC

While SEGA and Atlus have plans to support Nintendo Switch, Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 will remain exclusive to PlayStation platforms.

In a post on Twitter, Atlus USA and SEGA of America PR manager John Hardin confirmed that Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 won't be ported to Nintendo Switch or PC. "Persona 5 platforms: PS3, PS4. Yakuza 0 platforms: PS4. THAT'S. IT. No Switch. No PC," he said.

Following Nintendo's announcement of Switch, both SEGA and Atlus confirmed plans to support the console. Last year, SEGA announced that an "epic" title from Sonic Colors and Generations team is headed to the platform in 2017.

Michael Keaton on Turning Down Batman Forever: ‘It Sucked’

Oscar-nominated actor Michael Keaton had a simple reason for saying no to Batman Forever.

"It sucked," he told The Hollywood Reporter after seeing the script. After portraying the Caped Crusader in Batman and Batman Returns, both directed by Tim Burton, he voted against returning for Batman Forever, helmed by Joel Schumacher.

"I knew it was in trouble," Keaton said, "when

said, 'Why does everything have to be so dark?'"

With Keaton passing on Batman Forever, Val Kilmer donned the mask and cape. And then George Clooney became Bruce Wayne with Batman & Robin for Schumacher, before the franchise was rebooted by Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale with the Dark Knight trilogy.

Geoff Johns Teases New DC TV Show, Return to Comics

A new DC Comics superhero TV series will be announced soon, according to CCO of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns.

Johns teased the news in a series of tweets listing his top five most anticipated DC events of 2017, one of which is watching new seasons of several DC TV series, like The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. Johns then promised that one of the shows he's looking forward to "will be announced soon."
