Charmed Reboot In Development at The CW

The CW is developing a reboot of Charmed, with Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Urman heading up the project.

According to Variety, Urman is writing the upcoming revival series alongside Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, both of whom have worked with her on Jane the Virgin. All three will executive produce, as well as Propagate Content's Ben Silverman and Brad Silberling, the latter of whom is attached to direct.

Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Spidey Suit Upgrades Revealed

Peter Parker will have quite a few upgrades to his Spidey suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Disney has revealed the most important improvements made to the suit, which are all thanks to Tony Stark, in a short Twitter video. Spider-Man will have an upgraded web shooter with a variety of "selectable web types" and a "laser targeting system." A brief clip from the movie's debut trailer is shown, and it displays the improved web shooter in action while Spider-Man is trying to stop some bank robbers.

The suit will also have web wings, which are a long-forgotten classic piece of the costume showcased in the trailer, a GPS tracking system with a "holographic wrist display," and more expressive eyes. Check out the video below.

Disney Reveals Logo for Star Wars: Episode VIII

Disney has quite a blockbuster year planned for the silver screen, headlined by Star Wars: Episode VIII, Thor: Ragnarok and Beauty and the Beast.

The studio kicked off the new year by unveiling new photos and logos for its 2017 movie line-up. There's the logo for Episode VIII, along with a behind-the-scenes photo for Thor: Ragnarok in the photo gallery below.

But those aren't the only movies to get love from Disney. There are also fresh looks at Cars 3, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Coco.

Star Wars: Episode 8 Will Explore Kylo Ren’s ‘Humanity’

Star Wars: Episode VIII will explore Kylo Ren's "humanity" and why he feels morally justified by his violent actions, according to star Adam Driver.

During an interview on Larry King Now, Driver revealed what he's most looking forward to exploring with his character in Episode VIII -- namely, he wants Kylo Ren to feel more grounded in reality and shed light on what the villain is really after. The actor promised that Episode VIII will explain a lot of the plot points that were introduced with Ren and The First Order in The Force Awakens.

"There was a lot of plot points that we knew were operating in the first one, that we get to explain more in the second one, that kind of make both of them make sense," Driver said.

Marvel Does ‘Lord of the Rings vs. Star Wars’ in Upcoming Asgard/Shi’ar War

The Asgard/Shi’ar War will kick off in next week’s The Mighty Thor #15, but the gods of Asgard will get a rude awakening when the Shi’ar bring along gods of their own, Sharra and K'ythri.

“I would say they're a colossal threat,” series writer Jason Aaron told IGN. “The Shi'ar Imperium is a race of conquerors. They've conquered a huge swath of the Marvel Universe and imposed their will on different worlds and that's all been inspired by their gods, by Sharra and K'ythri. You have two gods who can inspire this alien armada of space conquerors, they must be pretty formidable gods. We get to see that for the first time in a very real way.”

Pokemon Go Was Most Downloaded Apple App in 2016

Pokemon Go was the most downloaded app in the App Store in 2016, Apple has announced.

The mid-year hit from Niantic took the top spot in the list, but it wasn't the only Nintendo-related app to appear in the top 10 most downloaded apps. Super Mario Run was also among the top ten most downloaded apps worldwide for 2016. Super Mario Run has already been downloaded over 50 million times since its release in December and was the most downloaded app globally on both Christmas and New Year's Day, according to Apple.

Apple also announced a few milestones for the App Store, including that New Year's Day 2017 delivered nearly $240 million in purchases, making it the highest single day ever for the App Store. In addition, developers earned over $20 billion in 2016, up 40% from 2015 while the App Store now offers 2.2 million apps, which is up over 20% from 2015.

6 Nintendo Switch Accessories Announced

California-based Hyperkin unveiled six accessories at CES 2017 for the upcoming Nintendo Switch console. The company also has a three-in-one adapter for its Retron 5 console in the works that can play Game Gear, Master System, and Master System Card games.

The accessories for Nintendo Switch include a 5 ft. USB Type-C charging cable, a USB-C AC adapter with a 4 ft. cable, a car charger adapter for the console that has a 5 ft. cable. Hyperkin also announced a screen protector, a hard shell carrying case, and a travel bag with padded storage for the new Nintendo system.

Hyperkin also has a three-in-one adapter for the company’s Retron 5 console that will allow users to play Game Gear, Master System, and Master System Card games. According to the company, the adapter can be easily inserted into the Genesis slot of the Retron 5. The company also showed off it’s X91 controller, a ‘90s-style controller for the Xbox One.

Slender Man Movie Finds Director

Screen Gems' upcoming Slender Man movie has found its director in Sylvain White.

White, whose previous directorial credits include the 2007 teen drama Stomp the Yard and the 2010 action comedy The Losers, will helm the project, with production set to begin by spring.

Nvidia Announces Cloud-Based Gaming Service

Nvidia wants everyone to have access to its hardware. Knowing it's impossible to fit a GTX 1080 into a MacBook, the company introduced a cloud-based gaming solution to let PC gamers access its top-end hardware without needing to assemble a gaming PC.

The GeForce Now service uses GTX 1080-equipped machines in data centers to stream games to PCs and Macs.

Nyko Announces PSVR, HTC Vive Accessories

Nyko has revealed a host of new accessories set to release later this year for both the PlayStation VR and HTC Vive as part of the company's Consumer Electronics Show 2017 offerings.

Accessories for the PSVR include a Charge Block, which can plug into any wall outlet or USB port to charge PSVR Move controllers and will cost $19.99, and a $14.99 10-foot USB Charge Link cable that can charge both PSVR controllers at once. Both items will be available in 2017.

A Charge Base for the HTC Vive, which is AC powered, allows users to drop in and charge Vive's wireless controllers and costs $29.99, and the $9.99 VR Halo for Vive, which is a slip-on padded cover for the headset's controllers. All HTC Vive accessories will release in 2017 as well.
