Sonic Mania Confirmed for Nintendo Switch
SEGA has announced that Sonic Mania is coming to Nintendo Switch.
The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account confirmed the news, saying, "It's true: Sonic Mania is headed to the Nintendo Switch!"
Sonic Mania is a throwback to the classic 2D Sonic games. In addition to having pixel-style art, the game features brand-new levels, as well as reimagined areas from Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles.
According to Nintendo's official page for the game on its website, Sonic Mania will release for Nintendo Switch this spring. This is the same release window that was given to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions when the title was announced last year at Comic-Con.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a 13.4GB Download on Switch
Zelda: Breath of the Wild will take up 13.4GB of hard drive space on Switch.
It’s worth pointing out the Switch ships with 32GB of internal memory, and some of that space will be taken up by the system’s operating system, meaning Zelda will take up nearly half of the available space. Thankfully, during the Switch reveal, Nintendo mentioned you can expand the storage via microSDXC cards.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is set to release alongside the Switch console on March 3, 2017. It’ll also be available for Wii U on the same date.
There have been several big announcements regarding Link’s newest adventure in the past few hours. Zelda and Bokoblin will be getting their own amiibo figurines to go alongside the previously-announced Breath of the Wild line-up. There will also be two different special editions for those with a few extra rupees to spare.

Battle Deadly Outbreaks in 505 Games’ Quarantine
Abzu publisher 505 Games announced a brand-new IP, Quarantine, coming to Steam Early Access next month.
Quarantine is a single-player game where players "battle to contain outbreaks and cure diseases," as the director of Pandemic Defense.
The setting takes cues from "real-world science and epidemic response," according to 505 Games. Viruses, bacteria, and prions represent the three pathogens players must battle during the game, and several different specialists, from medic to diplomat, can be deployed to help deal with the devastation.
Three difficulty settings, four different leaders, and "unpredictable gameplay" lend to Quarantine's replayability, according to 505 Games.
Nintendo Admits Switch Performance Difference When Docked
Nintendo has given the first official statement regarding a difference in performance between the Nintendo Switch in its docked and undocked modes.
In a press release entry for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo writes that the game will "play in TV mode in up to 1080p". Given that the Switch controller touchscreen has a 720p resolution, it's the first time the company has confirmed the long-rumoured upgrade when docked.
It's likely that the console is able to output in 1080p when in handheld mode, but to do so would compromise an already fairly short battery life.
Nintendo Switch Steering Wheel Accessory Shown Off
Feast your eyes on a closer look at the Switch’s new steering wheel accessory.
The Joy-Con steering wheel comes in a double pack – one for each controller – and will retail for around £13.99 in the UK and $14.99 in the US.
The slightly revamped steering wheel works in a similar fashion to that of its Wii U counterpart. Namely, you place a Joy-Con at the centre of the wheel to allow for motion-controlled racing.
Bandai Namco Announces New Switch Titles
Bandai Namco has announced that it is developing games in the Taiko Drum Master and ‘Tales of’ series for Nintendo Switch.
After announcing the release of a Switch edition of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 earlier today, a press release added the two extra games to the line-up. Currently, only Nintendo of Japan has listed the games for launch, but the press release we've received is from the European branch of Bandai Namco.
We have contacted the publisher for clarification on whether this means a western release is confirmed. It’s worth noting that Switch will play region-free games, so western players will have the choice to play the games even if a western release doesn't happen.
