Old Man Logan Time Travels to Iconic Wolverine Moments

Writer Jeff Lemire will be departing the ongoing Marvel Comics series Old Man Logan with Issue #24. His final story arc, with artist Eric Nguyen, will be titled “Past Lives” and will see Old Man Logan thrown back in time and be forced to relive some of the most traumatic and iconic Wolverine moments as he tries to make his way back to the present.

“For me, a large part of writing Old Man Logan has been about taking old Wolverine tropes and stories and then seeing those again but through the lens of Old Man Logan instead, with the different perspective he brings,” Lemire told us in an email interview. “The other big part of the series has been the ‘man out of time’ aspect of Logan struggling with what may or may not be his apocalyptic future. So this story was really about taking both of those things and combining them into one last big story that brings everything I have done in the series full circle.”

Final Fantasy XV Update Will Allow You to Take Your Own Photos

Move over Prompto, we're taking the pictures now - the next Final Fantasy XV update will allow players to take their own in-game photos.

Announced on the Japanese Square Enix site, the update includes both free and paid Holiday-themed DLC, as well as the "Self-Shooting Function", which will allow players to take their own photos at any time other than during a battle.

The update appears to be dated for January 24, which tallies with the start date for the game's first seasonal event. Square Enix Europe confirmed that our translation was correct, but would not be drawn on details of the photo mode (such as whether you could take both regular pictures and selfies), or its release date.

Fans have discovered what appears to be the backstory to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by translating the text on the game's special edition map - which is written in the made-up Sheikah language.

HEY! LISTEN! What follows could be considered mild spoilers by some - consider yourself warned.

After a brief glimpse of the map during the Nintendo Treehouse livestream, a set of fans recognised the Sheikah runes (which were almost immediately translated after they appeared in E3 demos), and set about translating them once more.

Wizards of the Coast Opens Digital Studio

Game publisher Wizards of the Coast has opened up a digital studio, with the aim of recreating some of its practical properties in a virtual space.

This is a fairly big deal, as Wizards of the Coast owns the world's most popular tabletop game Dungeons and Dragons, alongside what is arguably the world's most popular collectable card game, Magic: The Gathering.

The studio will be run by a group of 'all-stars" and led by Jeffrey Steefel, best known for his work on The Lord of the Rings Online, according to a blog post from Wizards of the Coast President Chris Cocks. Video game veteran David Schwartz will also come aboard to lead a new publishing team "to explore partnerships and collaborations that will bring Magic and D&D to unexpected settings, genres, and platforms."

Gabe Newell Says Valve Is Still Working on Single-Player Games

Gabe Newell, Valve co-founder and legendary figure in the world of PC gaming, did another Reddit AMA today, during which he said Valve is currently working on at least one single-player game.

His answer to the question was a simple "Yes." That game isn't Half-Life 3, because in the same breath, he joked "The number 3 must not be said."

Newell did sow the seeds of hope for at least something Half-Life related when he admitted there was a possibility of a new IP in the Half-Life/Portal universe.
