Godzilla 2: Krampus Director to Helm
Krampus director Michael Dougherty will move from one monster to the next by helming Godzilla 2.
Variety reports Legendary offered him the chance to direct Godzilla: King of the Monsters after hiring Dougherty as a co-writer for the film last year. He's working on the sequel screenplay with Zach Shields, his scripting partner for Krampus.
Godzilla director Gareth Edwards was originally planned to return for the follow-up, but he left Godzilla 2 last year. Edwards recently helmed Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Death Stranding: How Involved Is Guillermo del Toro?
Don't expect director Guillermo del Toro to have a big role in the production of Death Stranding. Though the game features a reunion between del Toro and friend/fellow P.T. director Hideo Kojima, it turns out that del Toro's contribution is solely as an actor this time around.
That's what we learned during a recent phone interview with del Toro, as he was clear that the game itself sprung solely from the mind of Kojima. "I’m involved as a character. Kojima-san called me and said, 'I want you to be a character in the game,' and I said, 'Gladly.' He’s discussed his ideas so I could understand the character, but other than that I’m not involved, creatively, at all."
Del Toro continued, "This is entirely Kojima-san’s game. I think it’s gonna be a fantastic game, 100%. But this is him and his ideas. I’m just a puppet in his hands. My contribution is limited to being a cheerleader for his ideas and being scanned for long hours at a time. That’s about it."
Gotham: Get Ready for Jerome’s Ruthless Return
This week's Gotham, "Smile Like You Mean It" -- airing Monday, January 23rd -- marks the big return of Cameron Monaghan's Joker-esque Jerome Valeska.
Back from the dead, Jerome's new reign of terror comes with a gaggle of new worshippers and a grotesque new look that includes nods to Joker's "Glasgow smile" from The Dark Knight, Nicholson's scarring from Tim Burton's Batman, and the comic book Joker's stapled-on "Death of the Family" face.
I spoke to Monaghan about his return to the series, Jerome's new look, new cult, and new arc with Bruce Wayne.
IGN: First off, from what we've seen in teasers and in an image you posted on Instagram, Jerome's new face is pretty damn freaky.

Yes, Logan Is Rated R After All
Logan, the upcoming third and final (Hugh Jackman-starring) Wolverine film, has officially been rated R.
Despite recent chatter pointing to the the movie not being rated R at all, director James Mangold confirmed the news on Twitter, saying the film earned its rating from the MPAA for “strong brutal violence and language throughout, and for brief nudity.” Logan's recent Red Band trailer does contain plenty of cussing, cutting, and other violence fit for an R-Rated movie.
Official: Please be advised that LOGAN has been rated R for “strong brutal violence and language throughout, and for brief nudity.”
Walking Dead Executive Producers Says Violence Has Not Been Toned Down
Two Walking Dead executive producers have claimed that they did not tone down the violence after the bloody Season 7 premiere despite fellow EP Gale Anne Hurd saying otherwise earlier this month.
Showrunner Scott M. Gimple told Entertainment Weekly that the baseball bat beating scene in the premiere was always intended to be more violent than anything that came after in the new season. The torture the show's protagonists go through in the premiere "was very specific to that episode and the beginning of this whole new story," and Gimple doesn't believe "that's the base level of violence that necessarily should be on the show."
