Nintendo Talks Us Through the Switch UI (a Little)

Nintendo has released a new rundown of features on the Nintendo Switch hardware, including a closer (if still limited) look at the Home menu UI.

The Nintendo UK website now lists a "Specifications" section, running through the various ports and features of the hardware (although offers little on its much debated internal CPU/GPU).

Included is a short rundown of the console's Home menu, explaining its news, eShop and album tabs (below):

Classic Halo Helmets Coming to Halo 5 Next Month

Halo 5: Guardians players will soon be able to adorn their Spartan with classic Halo helmets, as 343 Industries has announced that the Classic Helmet REQ pack will launch on February 9.

As noted in the latest Halo Community Update, the helmets won't be released alongside any additional content, as "they are their own thing and technically part of Monitor's Bounty." Additionally, 343 Industries is currently at work on various technical improvements and bug fixes and plans to roll out a maintenance update "sometime in the near future."

IGN UK Podcast #368: The Highs and Lows of Resident Evil 7

After months of lurking in the shadows, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is finally here and it's a return to form for the series. Gav, who's a huge fan of Resident Evil, says it has some of the best moments in any of the Resi games, which is high praise indeed, but it cannot quite sustain the momentum all the way through.

Meanwhile, Alex and Rory went on a day trip to Paris, but rather than take in the sights they teamed up and took on the Santa Blanca drug cartel in Ghost Recon Wildlands. And while flying helicopters and gunning down sicarios is fun, this week's Keyword Countdown is even better!

Live by Night: Affleck Bomb a $75 Million Loss

Ben Affleck's gangster flick Live by Night has lost a lot of money for Warner Bros.

According to Variety's insiders, the critical disaster will see the studio behind it facing a $75 million loss. Live by Night has made $16.5 million globally on a $65 million budget, and that's not counting the millions more that went towards marketing the film. Variety notes that the film probably won't have much success in the international market either, as such period pieces - with no Oscar nominations attached - tend to repel punters.

Warner Bros. is hoping to recuperate some of its losses through home entertainment sales and TV licencing deals.

All the Villains of the DC Extended Universe So Far

The DCEU (DC Extended Universe) is growing fast. It all started with Man of Steel almost four years ago in 2013, but in just 2016 and 2017 that number is increasing to five films, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hitting last year along with Suicide Squad, and now Wonder Woman and Justice League coming this year. And beyond that, we've got confirmed film adaptations of Aquaman, Shazam, Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps in the works, plus a bunch of other projects in development.

And of course, any superhero movie has to have a supervillain. Which is why you're here, because we've put together the following slideshow that breaks down every confirmed bad guy who has already appeared or will soon be appearing in a DCEU film. In some cases, like The Flash movie (which is getting a page-one rewrite at the moment), we don't really know who the villain will wind up being. But for others, like The Batman, the talent behind the film have already talked up some of the characters who will be appearing (Deathstroke!). That said, click through the slideshow below for all the DC baddies to date...
