24: Legacy Delivers Tony Almeida’s Return

While 24: Legacy is definitely in the same universe as the original show, there have only been a few Easter eggs for fans to identify so far in the story. That changes in Monday’s new episode, as Tony Almeida’s return bridges the gap, solidifying the connection between the original long-running series and Legacy.

I recently got to chat with Carlos Bernard about his return to the franchise and how he sees his character as part of an iconic piece of television pop culture.

The last time we saw Tony Almeida, he was planning his escape from prison, as seen in the shot called Solitary feature on the the 24: Live Another Day Blu-ray. As Bernard explained, “Solitary functioned as an out. They love the character and knew they wanted to use him again. The time constraint of the show made it hard. You can’t take time away from the main story for a prison break.”

IGN UK Podcast #374: Get Out of Hyrule

Somehow, we did things that weren't playing Zelda this week. I mean, not many things, but definitely some things. Like watching excellent new horror film, Get Out, or thinking about how the Switch is already worming its tablet-y little way into our daily lives.

The first King Kong film was released in 1933, and in the years that followed, we have seen some crazy posters. With the release of Kong: Skull Island, and it’s bold and unique poster designs, we decided to look back and find some of the more audacious posters from across the Kong's 84-year history. Open the slideshow below to see the 8 Crazy King Kong Posters.

Shadow of War: 6 Things You Probably Didn’t Know

After Monolith’s 2014 gem Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor proved to be one of the best Lord of the Rings games ever made, it’s no surprise that a sequel is coming. With the announcement finally here, we’re excited to finally go back to Middle-earth! As a huge fan of Talion’s tale in Shadow of Mordor, and a big Tolkien nerd in general, the announcement of Shadow of War has got me eager to take another stab at the lidless eye.

That’s not going to happen until its August 22 release date, but for now we’re poring over every piece of information we have. Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age Collector’s Edition Revealed

Ahead of the game's launch this July, Square Enix has unveiled a Collector's Edition for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, which is now available for pre-order.

In addition to a copy of the game, the $200 USD Collector's Edition includes a "Judge Magisters" mini bust set, a Steelbook case with exclusive art, select music from the game's soundtrack, six art cards and background music DLC, all of which can be seen in the image below.

Samurai Jack’s 10 Best Episodes

A statute of limitations doesn't exist for making sequels. It's never too late to revisit a story. Case in point: Samurai Jack. The show from creator Genndy Tartakovsky is returning with Season 5 on Saturday, March 11 – even though Season 4 wrapped 13 years ago. The animated series focused on Jack (voiced by Phil LaMarr), a man way out of his time, pushed the timeless theme of good vs. evil in 2D stylized animation. We accompanied Jack as he had to adjust to life in the future while trying to get back to his past to stop the demon Aku, because like most demons, Aku is up to nothing good.

Kingdom Hearts Mobile Game to Get New Multiplayer Mode

Kingdom Hearts: Unchained X will receive a major update next month that will serve as a relaunch for Square Enix's mobile game with several new features.

The update will be free and rebrand the mobile RPG with the title Kingdom Hearts: Union X. A new multiplayer mode called "Union Cross" will be included, allowing players to battle against Heartless as teams of six created from their party or via matchmaking.

Additionally, players will be able to take on new missions and increasingly difficult quests. To coordinate with one another, players will be able to communicate using text bubbles and emotes. The update also adds more options to customize your player avatar, as well as a new "Theater Mode," which will let you rewatch the game's various cutscenes.

Star Wars Celebration Will Skip Next Year, Return in 2019

Star Wars Celebration, the official fan gathering for the Star Wars franchise, will skip next year and return in 2019, when Star Wars Episode: IX is also slated to hit heaters.

Details about the exact date and venue of the 2019 convention will be announced soon, according to Star Wars Celebration's official blog post.

This year's Star Wars Celebration takes place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from April 13 to 16. Tickets go on sale in May.
