Life Writers Tease How the Film’s Ending Could Lead to a Sequel
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have emerged as two of the most admired and successful screenwriters working in Hollywood today. After the combined successes of Zombieland and Deadpool, the duo has carved out a nice place for themselves in an industry notorious for sidelining its writers. And this week Reese and Wernick have returned to the big screen with their latest effort Life, a new sci-fi horror film about a crew of astronauts working on the International Space Station who discover new life on Mars… but quickly come under attack from the alien entity when they take it aboard their ship and begin analyzing it. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Life stars Ryan Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson.
The Witcher Book Author Doesn’t Profit From the Games
Andrzek Sapkowski, the creator of the Polish novels turned video games, doesn't receive royalties from the video game adaptions of his books.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Sapkowski talks about how he dreamed up The Witcher world, his love of fantasy as a genre, and how he doesn't make any money off them after a one-time payment for The Witcher video games.
There's no malevolence in this transaction: simply an old deal between the writer and CD Projekt Red.
CD Projekt Red offered Sapkowski a cut of the game’s profits, but he declined. “Give me all my money right now,” he joked.
When CGI Characters Dominate Live-Action Movies
CGI has truly altered the movie landscape over the past several decades. It's allowed studios to build armies of life-like orcs, transform ordinary actors into superheroes and generally make the impossible happen on the big screen in live-action movies that purport to be set in a "real world." Sure, CGI can often be used as a crutch, but when applied properly it's been responsible for creating some of our favorite movie characters.
With new films like the Will Smith-starring Gemini Man and Martin Scorsese's The Irishman reminding us just how far special effects have come, we figured it was time to update this rundown of our favorite CGI characters in live-action movies. We've included both motion capture performances and entirely digital creations here, so check out our full list -- including everything from Terminators to Gollum to the T-Rex to good old Yoda himself -- in the slideshow below:
Power Rangers Team Teases Future of Movie Franchise
Lionsgate's live-action Power Rangers movie, which opens in theaters today, will serve as the first in a six-film story that could also expand to even more films that aren't direct sequels.
Power Rangers producer Haim Saban recently told Variety they "already have a six-movie story arc" planned, which director Dean Israelite has since reaffirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Before he even signed on to helm the film, Israelite said the team at Saban Entertainment already "had a document that laid out six movies." He told EW he's confident there won't be a shortage of ideas for future films, saying, "We just haven’t had the time to really sit down and talk about the full six, but there's no doubt there is enough material for it, absolutely no doubt that the franchise could be that big."
Randy Orton on Facing Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33
WrestleMania 33 is just over one week away - coming at us live from the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, April 2nd. Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg will collide once again, this time with Goldberg's Universal Championship on the line, while Roman Reigns is set to square off against The Undertaker.
In another huge match, Randy Orton will challenge Bray Wyatt for the WWE World Championship in a match that's sure to be filled with violent mind games galore. So far, Orton's torched Bray's sister's remains while Bray himself has covered himself in his ashes and pronounced himself reborn. Yeah, it's gonna get weird.
I spoke to Randy Orton about his big title match at WrestleMania, his long-running storyline with the Wyatt Family, the popularity of the RKO, and more.
7 Things We Love AND Hate About Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a masterpiece of open-world design and interconnected systems. And while there's a lot of love about it, that doesn't mean everyone is crazy about every little thing!
We asked several members of the IGN staff who've leaped headfirst into Hyrule what their favorite, and least favorite, moments in Breath of the Wild are after many hours spent adventuring. Here are seven things we love and hate about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is AWESOME, but that voice acting... man. It's not-so-awesome. Many of the line readings feel rushed and cramped, and almost everyone feels like they're simply 'playing a character.' They don't sound natural, or realistic. I don't want the Zelda team to give up, though. I'm firmly in the camp that thinks it's time for Link to talk. But hopefully their next attempt improves over what we got in Breath of the Wild. -- Justin Davis, Executive Editor

Internet Privacy in U.S. Could Be Overturned
The United States Senate approved a resolution on Thursday to repeal privacy rules passed in October 2016 that required internet service providers to have users' permission to share the data they have collected.
The resolution passed by a 50-48 vote, which was entirely along party lines with two Republican senators not voting.
The rules were passed by the Federal Communications Commission in October 2016 when then-FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said "It's the consumers' information. How it is used should be the consumers' choice." The rules passed by a 3-2 FCC vote have not actually yet gone into effect, but they would have demanded that ISPs inform consumers both just exactly what information is being amassed and the ISPs' intents to share it in some fashion. In certain circumstances, user consent would be required for that information to be shared.
