First Screenshot of Phantom Dust Remaster Released

Xbox head Phil Spencer has showcased the first screenshot for the Phantom Dust remaster.

On Twitter, Spencer revealed a look at the Xbox One version of the cult card-battler/action-RPG hybrid (it's coming to Windows 10 PC too). Phantom Dust was announced at E3 2016, with Microsoft updating the original Xbox game to feature improved online play.

Destiny 2 Expansions Center Around Returning Characters

Promotional artwork for Destiny 2 may have dropped clues about the sequel's upcoming story arcs.

Bungie released details of its Collector's Edition and season pass last week, including two images related to the game's two currently planned expansions. Although the logos are text-free and give away very little, many fans of the original game will instantly recognise them as the icons associated with characters Osiris and Rasputin (or just a Warmind AI, if you're being picky).

It's only small, but the image is plenty big enough to discern the logos concerned:

Agents of Mayhem Release Date Announced

Deep Silver has announced release dates for its new single player, third-person action game, Agents of Mayhem.

Developed by the studio that brought us Saints Row, Agents of Mayhem was announced at E3 last year, and will release August 15 and 18 in the USA and Europe respectively.

The over-the-top sandbox game mixes elements of Overwatch, Saints Row and Crackdown, and features a line-up of characters, each with a unique skill set. They're working together to take down a supervillain organisation known as LEGION.

Black Sails Creators Discuss the Series Finale

Warning: Full spoilers for the final episode of Black Sails follow...

So how about that for a final episode? Woodes defeated, and humiliated. Max, Jack, and Anne returning to Nassau to rule the roost. Silver making one final deal with Flint - one that leads the Captain back to his lost love, Thomas! It was an exciting and emotional finale that spared lives and sent us on our way with a smile.

I spoke to Black Sails creators Jonathan Steinberg and Robert Levine about the way everything ended, the impressive final action sequence, the pathway to Treasure Island, and more.

IGN: I was surprised that everyone made it out of the series finale alive and, for the most part, with happy endings. What was behind the choice to not load up on the death on your way out?

The Hardy Boyz Returned to WWE at WrestleMania

There were rumors swirling in the past few days, and they were indeed true, as the Hardy Boyz made a big return to WWE at WrestleMania 33 Sunday night.

The duo, who were a WWE mainstay for years, had not tagged together in WWE for seven years. Both brothers, Matt and Jeff Hardy, then did a stint in TNA that only recently ended. At the start of the ladder match for the RAW the Tag Team titles, WrestleMania hosts The New Day announced the match was now a fatal four way, introducing the fourth team that would face Cesaro and Sheamus, Enzo and Cass, and Anderson and Gallows - The Hardy Boyz.

Get Out Broke This Record Long-Held by The Blair Witch Project

Jordan Peele's stellar horror flick Get Out has beaten The Blair Witch's record for the highest-grossing debut for a writer-director based on an original screenplay.

As reported by Forbes, Get Out has now raked in $150 million in domestic (US) sales, which means it has eclipsed the $140 million garnered by The Blair Witch Project in 1999. Get Out has been wildly successful from the get go, debuting with $33.377 million on its opening weekend. It cost less than $5 million to produce.

Get Out was still travelling well in the domestic box office this weekend, whereas the Ghost in the Shell live-action reboot, with its  $110 million production budget, had an underwhelming debut.

Voltron Legendary Defender Season 3 Announced

DreamWorks has confirmed Voltron Legendary Defender is returning for a new season later this year.

The announcement was made by executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos during a WonderCon Panel for the show. Aside from a 2017 release, no specific premiere date for Season 3 of the Netflix original series was revealed.

For those lucky enough to attend the WonderCon panel, fans were treated to an in-depth discussion about the second season, which ended a few months ago. Panelists included Jeremy Shada (Lance), Josh Keaton (Shiro), Tyler Labine (Hunk), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge), and Kimberly Brooks (Allura), as well as executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery, and story editor Tim Hedrick.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Director Denies Hawkeye Involvement

Jeremy Renner apparently won't be involved in Ant-Man and the Wasp after all, as director Peyton Reed has come forward shoot down rumors of his involvement.

A few days ago, it was reported that Renner won't reprise his role as William Brandt in Mission: Impossible 6, but will make an appearance as Hawkeye in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Reed has since taken to Twitter to address this report, saying, "the Russians are swarm-tweeting that Hawkeye is in Ant-Man and the Wasp. #FakeNews."

Ghost in the Shell Flops in Debut

Ghost in the Shell had an underwhelming debut at the domestic box office, placing third with an estimated $19 million.

Paramount's live-action adaptation has a long way to go before reaching levels of profitability, and will have to rely on international success if it hopes to recoup its $110 million production budget. As noted by Variety, director Rupert Sanders' sci-fi film has eared $40.1 million from foreign markets thus far.
