Gears of War Movie to Be Written by Avatar 2 Screenwriter
Universal Pictures has found a writer for its upcoming adaptation of the Gears of War movie.
IGN can confirm that Shane Salerno has been tapped to write the Gears of War screenplay. Salerno is credited as a writer on the four Avatar sequels currently heading into production.
The Coalition's Rod Fergusson confirmed last year that Universal Pictures had optioned the rights to adapt the Gears of War franchise for film, with Planet of the Apes series producer Dylan Clark, who gave an update on the film last year, on board to produce, as is Ted's Scott Stuber, via Universal's Bluegrass Films division.

Respawn Announces Mobile RTS Game Titanfall Assault
Titanfall developer Respawn has announced a new mobile RTS based on its popular IP.
The new RTS, dubbed Titanfall Assault, has players join the Frontier War by building a team of Pilots and Titans to take down the enemy team in real time. Burn Cards will also be collected and upgraded to give a strategic advantage during the fight.
Titanfall Assault is boasting PvP gameplay across multiple maps, however, at this time there is no mention of a single player campaign or story mode.
This isn't Respawn's first foray into a mobile Titanfall title, with the standalone card game Titanfall: Frontline canceled last year after unsatisfactory beta tests.

9 Canceled Movies We’re Still Dying to See
Plenty of the best directors in Hollywood, from Alfred Hitchcock to Orson Welles to Stanley Kubrick, have come up with incredible movie premises that, for one reason or another, never saw the light of day.
Plenty of these movie ideas have been picked up and taken on by other directors as well, ending up being released but with a new take on the original intent (here's looking at you, Guillermo del Toro's The Hobbit). And of course we live in an age where what is dead may never die, and plenty of seemingly canceled movies -- from Star Wars: Episode VII to a Blade Runner sequel -- are very much alive.
Prey for the Gods Gets New Name Following Bethesda Dispute
UPDATE: A Bethesda representative provided the following statement to IGN regarding the name change:
"We really didn’t have much of a choice. If we don’t oppose the mark, we risk losing our Prey trademark and that isn’t acceptable. Unfortunately, that’s how trademark law works."
A Bethesda representative tells IGN that they first reached out to No Matter Studios as early as November 2015 regarding this, before Prey for the Gods' Kickstarter campaign began, and "multiple times" since then.
Original story follows:
The upcoming Shadow of the Colossus-inspired survival game Prey for the Gods has changed its name to Praey for the Gods following a trademark dispute with Bethesda, according to the developer.
