Superman and Doctor Manhattan Meet in ‘Doomsday Clock’

DC's Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is returning to comics later this year to continue the work he started with DC Universe Rebirth #1. Johns, artist Gary Frank and colorist Brad Anderson will chronicle the long-awaited meeting between Superman and Watchmen's Doctor Manhattan in a mini-series entitled Doomsday Clock.

Doomsday Clock was first revealed by Syfy Wire. The mini-series appears to serve as the endgame of the current DC Rebirth status quo, building directly on the events of both DC Universe Rebirth #1 and the Batman/Flash crossover "The Button" (which is set to wrap up in The Flash #22 on May 17). The series will explore the fallout when the DC and Watcmen universes collide, as Superman's innate sense of hope and optimism clash with Manhattan's cynical attempts to experiment with the fabric of the DCU.

Designing Hearthstone’s Innovative New Legendary Minions

Hearthstone’s latest expansion, Journey to Un’Goro, has been a huge success. From a broad perspective it introduced a raft of new mechanics and synergies, like Quests, Adapt and Elementals. You can read all about how Team 5 went about designing those elements here. Focusing in, however, there are just a heap of great cards in this set, including returning characters and brand new ideas. I asked senior designers Peter Whalen and Mike Donais about the design process behind some of my favourites.

King Arthur Is This Summer’s First Box Office Bomb

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword bombed in its opening weekend, placing third at the domestic box office with an estimated $14.7 million.

As noted by Variety, director Guy Ritchie's fantasy drama, starring Charlie Hunnam, is this summer's first box office flop and has a long way to go before recouping its hefty production budget of $175 million. Read IGN's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword review, or watch the video below, to find out why the film's "incessant desire to be clever and funny, go too far and become off-putting."

MLB The Show Devs Offer Apology Gift to Early Adopters

MLB The Show released in late March to a positive reception, but unfortunately server issues prevented players from fully enjoying the game at launch.

In an attempt to make amends for the game's launch issues San Diego Studios announced that it will be rewarding all early adopters with a large sum of in-game currency.

According to its statement on The Show Nation website, the developers have been working nonstop to repair the game's online experience. A number of changes have been made, and the developers feel that the online experience has been greatly improved. However San Diego Studios still regret the struggle the fans experienced over the last month, and will offer a care package to all early adopters of the game.

NBC Un-Cancels Timeless

While a cancelled TV show can sometimes be saved by another outlet picking it up, it's still a rarity - and even rarer is when a show is "uncancelled" by the very same network that just ended it. Yet that's what just happened for Timeless, which NBC has decided will return to the network after all for Season 2, just three days after they'd pulled the plug on the time travel series.

Timeless creators Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and Erik Kripke (Supernatural) both tweeted the news this morning, revealing the series will return for a ten-episode run Summer 2018.

Let’s Talk About the Ending of Master of None: Season 2

This is spot where I'll dig into Master of None: Season 2 a little bit more, getting spoilery with some of the plot points and discussing the ending. So if you haven't started, or finished, Season 2, head over here to my non-spoilery Master of None: Season 2 review.

Without straying too far into dreaded and entitled "friend zone" territory, the love story between Dev and Francesca, that beautifully culminates in the hour-long penultimate episode "Amarsi Un Po," and the finale "Buona Notte," is a breathtaking piece of patience and detail.

Dev feeling used and exhausted, but also invigorated and addicted, is spot-on work as he's unable to fully grasp how hard it is for Francesca to completely change absolutely everything in her life to be with him. The two have to decide if what they feel for one another is worth a total course correction in life or if it's somehow more romantic to let it just remain in the background, becoming the sorrowful one great regret of their lives.
