Akira Creator’s ‘One Major Condition’ for Live-Action Movie
Katsuhiro Otomo, the creator of the Akira manga and director of the iconic 1988 anime film, has revealed his "one major condition" for a live-action movie adaptation.
"I did give one major condition to a live-action version and that is that I had to check and approve the scenario," Otomo said in an interview with Forbes.
Otomo noted that he has not yet seen the Paramount's recently released live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell— which original anime director Mamoru Oshii said he has no problem with—but said he's "mostly okay" with someone taking Akira in a new direction.

Project CARS 2’s Porsche Lineup Revealed
Developer Slightly Mad Studios has published a new video featuring Porsche factory driver Patrick Long explaining his role in helping the team hone the handling of the Porsche models included in the game.
“My involvement with Project CARS came from a very pure driver-engineer relationship, working with them on tuning Porsche’s products to relate back to the user in the crispest and most authentic way,” says Long in the video, which showcases the Porsches players can expect to see in Project CARS 2 when the game launches later this year.
The cars include the Porsche 936 (which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times), the incredibly dominant Porsche 935, the latest Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and several more.
Why Project Rap Rabbit is the Rhythm-Action Game I Want
A number of high profile game creators have turned to Kickstarter to try and fund new projects over the last few years, but as a huge fan of – what I’d guess you’d call - personality-driven rhythm-action games, the launch of the Project Rap Rabbit Kickstarter campaign a couple of weeks ago really jumped out at me.
This is a project, after all, from a veritable who’s who in that sub-genre – Masaya Matsuura, the creator of PaRappa the Rapper, Um Jammer Lammy and Vib Ribbon, Keiichi Yano, the driving force behind Gitaroo man, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents, and Atsushi Saito, the man responsible for the incredible visual style – and initial premise – of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan.

Elements of a city skyline can only be made out when adjusting the contrast of the image.
Adjusting the contrast reveals a skyline (behind the, uh, Skyline).
Warner Bros. May Sue Universal Over its Dark Universe
Warner Bros. is reportedly considering legal action against Universal over its 'Dark Universe' monster movie franchise.
Last week it was announced that Universal Pictures' classic monsters shared universe is now officially known as the 'Dark Universe' franchise, and THR reports that Warners is "mulling" legal action (via a studio source), as its very own 'Dark Universe' banner encompasses its upcoming Justice League Dark movie - currently working-titled Dark Universe - and a series of comic books. You can see how it might get...confusing.
Netflix Founder Wants to Cancel More Shows
Netflix founder Reed Hastings believes his streaming service needs to cancel more of its original shows.
Speaking to CNBC (via Vulture) Hastings said that Netflix's "hit ratio is way too high right now.” Netflix needs to be taking more risks, said Hastings, which would naturally result in some unexpected massive hits and some failures. “We’ve canceled very few shows," he continued. "I’m always pushing the content team: We have to take more risk; you have to try more crazy things. Because we should have a higher cancel rate overall.”

Resident Evil: Jovovich on Why She Almost Quit Over Michelle Rodriguez
Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich has revealed the reason why she almost quit the iconic series before it had even started.
During an interview with Inverse, Jovovich explains that she was a big fan of the games which prompted her to sign on to produce the original film and ended up reading for the movie after discovering that Paul W.S Anderson was holding the reins.
The series lead then candidly confided that she had originally planned to quit the film over re-writes to include Michelle Rodriguez's role.
"I almost quit the movie. I was shooting something else, and Paul had hired Michelle Rodriguez to play Rain. And she had just come off Girlfight and there was Oscar buzz. She was very hot at that moment, and my hotness had sort of been already four years old by that point"
