FIFA 18 Revealed with Cristiano Ronaldo as Cover Star
FIFA 18 will launch on September 29, and EA has also announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will be the game's cover star for the first time.
The game will be released on Xbox One, PS4, PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch. In the trailer below, we see Ronaldo taking on the entire Chelsea team before scoring a free kick. Sounds about right.
There will be three different editions of FIFA 18. The standard edition comes with a Cristiano Ronaldo loan card for Ultimate Team, £10 / $15 worth of Jumbo Premium Gold Ultimate Team Packs, as well as eight special edition kits.
The Ronaldo edition has £40 / $60 worth of packs, and you get the game three days early on top of what you get in the standard edition.
Breaking Bad VR Experience Coming to PSVR
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is working on a "non-game" virtual reality experience based on the TV show.
Variety reports Gilligan will be teaming up with Sony's PlayStation division. However, beyond Gilligan's direct involvement not much else is known about the VR project, including a release window, whether it'll be episodic, and which stars are attached.
The project came about when Sony brought in seven high-profile TV showrunners to its campus, including David Shore (The Blacklist) and Ron Moore (Battlestar Galactica), to try out its VR technology. "They just played around with VR," said Andrew House, global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment. "Several of them were intrigued, but Vince was the one who said, ‘I really want to do something with this. I want to experiment with this.'”
Pokemon-Themed Nintendo Direct Coming Tomorrow
Nintendo has announced that a Pokemon-centric Nintendo Direct will be broadcast tomorrow, Tuesday June 6 at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK (or 12am AEST on June 7).
Revealed first on the Nintendo Japan website, there's no more specific indication of what might be coming from the broadcast.
That hasn't stopped the internet immediately jumping to the conclusion that this broadcast will see the reveal of Pokemon Stars, the long-rumoured iteration on Pokemon Sun and Moon, supposedly set to make the step up from 3DS to Switch. Developer Game Freak was hiring for a console game recently, after all.

Elder Scrolls, Fallout Dev Making “AAA Freemium Game”
Bethesda Game Studios - the developer behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series - is making what it describes as a "bleeding-edge AAA freemium game".
A job listing (spotted by NeoGAF user Nirolak) for a game performance manager at the company's Montreal studio reveals little more than that phrase, but confirms that the unannounced game will be taking on a free-to-play business model.
Bethesda president, Todd Howard has previously announced that Bethesda is working on a new, unannounced mobile game. It may be that this freemium game is the same project - however, it's worth noting that other Bethesda Montreal job listings have specifically mentioned working on a mobile title, while this one does not.
Final Fantasy 14: Discussions Ongoing for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One Versions
Final Fantasy XIV could yet come to Switch and Xbox One, with developer Square Enix confirming that discussions with Nintendo and Microsoft are ongoing.
Director Naoki Yoshida has previously said that he would like to bring the game to both consoles, but news on that front has been somewhat quiet.
Speaking with Finder, however, Yoshida once again reiterated his desire to bring the MMORPG to more platforms than PlayStation and PC, and made clear that talks are in progress.
