New to Netflix for July

Netflix in July not only brings us the steaming site's first ever Star Wars movie -- with prequel/standalone Rogue One -- but also a brand new Castlevania animated series.

As it gets hotter outside and the desire to remain indoors rises, Netflix will unleash big titles like Titanic, E.T., Best in Show, Punch-Drunk Love, and The Mighty Ducks while also unveiling new Netflix original series like Friends from College (starring Fred Savage, Cobie Smulders and Keegan-Michael Key) and the gritty new series Ozark, starring Jason Bateman as a money launderer for the Cartel.

On the TV front, there's recent seasons of iZombie, Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, and Pretty Little Liars. All titles listed are U.S. only and dates are subject to change.

Final Fantasy 14 Hit by DDoS Attack

Final Fantasy XIV's recent network troubles are the result of a third-party DDoS attack, Square Enix confirmed.

"We have confirmed that since Jun. 16th, we have been experiencing DDoS attacks from an anonymous third-party targeting the Final Fantasy XIV game servers on the NA data center," Square Enix said in a statement posted on the Final Fantasy XIV website. The company added it's "taking every possible measure to address" the attacks.

While the attacks have caused connectivity issues, Square Enix assures players their character data and personal information are secure. You can learn more about DDoS attacks by reading IGN's in-depth explanation.

Tetsuya Nomura Designing Characters for Xenoblade Sequel

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will feature multiple characters designed by Tetsuya Nomura.

At the end of the new Xenoblade Chronicles 2 trailer that was released last week at E3, Nomura—who is currently directing both Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy VII Remake—is credited at the end for character designs of "Ira" (or "Torna" in English).

While "Torna" was initially believed to be the name of a single character, the official Japanese Twitter account for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (translation via Siliconera), clarified that "Torna" is actually the name of an organization in the game.

HBO Debuts New Game of Thrones Season 7 Trailer

The newest trailer for Game of Thrones' upcoming seventh season promises a war to come — and one in which families must unite to survive.

Click on the image below to watch the new trailer.

"For centuries our families fought together against their common enemy. We need to do the same if we’re going to survive," Jon Snow says over the trailer, which features brief snippets of the battles to come. The trailer also offers new, brief glimpses at Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Sansa Stark, who says the A Song of Ice and Fire quote, "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives" over the final moments of the trailer.

Every Movie Transformer

The Transformers movie franchise clocks in at five movies now, with plenty more on the way. And with each new movie adding more Autobots, Decepticons and neutral players to the mix, this universe has grown incredibly huge over the last decade. The number of heroes and villains in these films is now pushing 100, and that's just the robot characters.

Saw 8 Now Titled Jigsaw

The upcoming eighth Saw film will now officially be titled Jigsaw, Lionsgate has announced.

The horror movie was previously referred to as Saw: Legacy, but is now named after the series' main villain, who was played by Tobin Bell both before and after the character's death (in the later movies, thanks to many flashbacks).

Venom Movie Will Reportedly Feature Carnage as the Villain

Carnage will reportedly be the villain in the Venom solo film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock will be facing off against Carnage. In the comics, Carnage is a symbiote, just like Venom, who attached to Brock's prison cellmate, serial killer Cletus Kassidy.

After Brock manages to escape prison by using the symbiote, some of it was left behind and attached to Kassidy, transforming him into Carnage. Carnage's powers include shapeshifting, physical strength that's more powerful than Venom and Spider-Man combined, and the ability to plant thoughts into people's minds.
