One Piece Live-Action TV Series Announced
A live-action One Piece TV show has been announced.
According to Yahoo! Japan (translation via The One Piece Podcast), a live-action Hollywood adaptation of the popular anime was announced in Tokyo as part of One Piece's 20th anniversary celebration.
Tomorrow Studios, who's also taking on the recently-announced Cowboy Bebop live-action TV series, will oversee the project. The One Piece live-action series doesn't have a release date yet.

But it’s one thing to make a movie about a war with the benefit of hindsight. Modern war movies, made during or only shortly after the conflicts they dramatize, are trickier. Filmmakers can’t always see the forest for the trees, and frequently fall back on rah-rah action dynamics and propagandistic simplicity. And while some of the best modern war movies do those things too, the most interesting examples try to say something salient about the people embroiled in these battles, and explore each war from a different, illuminating angle.
Ghost Recon Wildlands’ New PvP Mode Gets Open Beta
Ubisoft has announced it will hold an open beta for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands' upcoming PvP mode, Ghost War, this summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The mode, which offers up a four-versus-four team deathmatch experience set on expansive, open maps, will be available in its entirety as a free update this fall to everyone who owns a copy of Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Ghost War features a variety of classes to choose from, allowing players to decide what type of role they want to have on the battlefield. New player-versus-player mechanics, like sound markers and suppressing fire, will be incorporated into the mode as well.
Ubisoft's military shooter has proven to be very successful, holding strong as the best-selling game of 2017 so far.
Dragon Ball FighterZ: Two New Characters Announced
The two latest characters to be added to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster are Piccolo and Krillin.
Piccolo is described as a technical character who has an extendable arm with which he grabs opponents. He's good at breaking through his opponent's guard, and he has fast and powerful beams, or you can charge up for a stronger attack. For an even larger strike, Piccolo either releases a Ki blast from afar or can combine it with a combo move.
Krillin is a skillful, tricky character who creates an image of himself before launching an attack. He lacks reach and power, but has techniques like the Kamehameha for a longer range battle. Plus, he'll be able to use the recognizable Senzu Bean which has restorative powers.

Nintendo Trademark Suggests N64 Classic Mini Coming
Nintendo has filed trademark applications which relate to various game controllers, including one pertaining to Nintendo 64, sparking speculation about Nintendo's potential next mini-console.
A thread on NeoGAF points to a series of applications filed in Europe via the European Union Intellectual Property Office on July 18, indicating that Nintendo is looking to register trademarks for several of its past console's controllers.
Included in the list are line drawings of NES, SNES, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 64 controllers:
Hearthstone Pros and Personalities on the Game in 2017
I’ve spent a good deal of my gaming life over the last few years obsessed by Hearthstone. It’s a genuinely special game – deeply strategic, infinitely playable, always changing, always surprising and wonderfully presented. It’s also worth noting that I’ve almost definitely spent more time watching Hearthstone than playing Hearthstone in that time. I check in with streams, watch tournaments, follow content creators on YouTube, lurk around the various Hearthstone subreddits and listen to Hearthstone podcasts (plural!) on a weekly basis.
Hearthstone’s community, in other words, is pretty vital. There’s so much to learn, so much to discuss and so much fun to be had that I’m quite happy to divide my time between the community and the game itself. With that in mind, now that there’s a little lull before Knights of the Frozen Throne kicks into gear (more info and card reveals are coming on July 24) I figured this was as good a time as any to take the pulse of some of my favourite pros and personalities within the community. To find out how they’re feeling about Hearthstone right now, what they’d like changed or added, and what they think of the theme for the next set. To do that I gave the same set of six questions to a bunch of people. We’ll do introductions first, then dive into the questions. And a massive thank you to everyone involved!
Netflix’s ‘Bright’ Blends Fantasy and Cop Thriller
Netflix followed up tonight's Death Note panel at SDCC with a second panel focused on their next original film, Bright. Unlike Death Note, Bright appears to have all of the pieces in place for a blockbuster movie. Will Smith and Joel Edgerton are reuniting with their Suicide Squad director David Ayer, for a story that unites fantasy with a contemporary Los Angeles cop drama. Both Smith and Edgerton got a big reception from the Comic-Con crowd, as they joined Ayer, cast members Lucy Fry, Noomi Rapace, and Edgar Ramirez and moderator Terry Crews.
In the first trailer for the film, we meet Smith’s character, Scott Ward, a police officer who beats a fairy to death in full view of his neighbors after it repeatedly causes mischief on his lawn. Ward is soon partnered up with Edgerton’s Nick Jakoby, the first Orc to serve on the LAPD. Over the course of the trailer, they come across an elf girl named Tikka (Fry), who has stolen a powerful magic wand from Rapace’s elf villain. As Smith later noted, it is “rated R grime smashed with Lord of the Rings.” Smith was also beyond excited to explore racial issues through the lens of fantasy, and noted that his character shows prejudice against Jakoby.
We’ve Seen 4 Scenes from Marvel’s Inhumans
Direct from the Comic-Con panel for Marvel's Inhumans, moderated by Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb, comes our rundown of four new scenes from the upcoming series - which premieres September 1st on IMAX screens (which will show the first two episodes) and then September 29th on ABC (where the first two episodes will have some added footage).
The first scene is an action sequence involving a young blonde woman running through a jungle in the rain, pursued by armed soldiers. Mike Moh’s Triton appears to the scared girl, takes off his hood and tells her “You’re safe.”
“I’ve been looking for you, you’re one of us,” he says. Triton has been sent to Earth because Inhumans have been popping up in record numbers. He tells her there’s a place where she could go where everyone is like her, the city of Attilan. She’s afraid she’s a freak but then while he tries ot calm her the soldiers open fire. They run and she’s killed.
