Sealed Copy of Stadium Events Sells for Nearly $42,000

If you have even a passing interest in the world of game collecting, you undoubtably have some familiarity with Stadium Events. It's the holiest of holies for Nintendo Entertainment System collectors, and retro-gaming fans without any console allegiance would drop what they're doing to get their hands on a copy.

An ultra-rare copy of the game, sealed in its original shrink wrap, has just been sold for $41,997. According to Kotaku, the game sold on eBay originally, but the buyer never came through with the cash. A private sale was then initiated, and the game changed hands for the princely sum.

Hello Kitty, Pac-Man Crossover Revealed

Hello Kitty is invading Pac-Man via a new crossover, Bandai Namco announced today.

The collaboration, titled Hello Kitty ♥ Pac-Man, is now available as part of a free limited-time update to the Pac-Man mobile game, which you can download for free as well on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

The update, which will be available through August 19, features Hello Kitty, along with customized icons, ghosts, and special in-game integrations and themed levels.

Bandai Namco and Sanrio, Inc. will also debut limited edition Hello Kitty/Pac-Man crossover-themed merchandise on July 20 at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 at the BAIT booth.

Hasbro Reveals Star Wars: The Last Jedi Action Figures

Luke Skywalker and Rey are getting new action figures.

Revealed via Hasbro's Toy Shop, this is a special two-pack of Rey and Luke as they appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Each figure measures 6 inches tall. The Rey figure comes with the character's trusty staff, blaster and Luke's old blue lightsaber. The Luke figure, however, doesn't come with any extra pieces except for his white cloak and robes.

According to Nerdist, the figures will be available for $50 (which is roughly £38) at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 and through Hasbro's website starting August 14.

Every Major Ape in the Planet of the Apes Trilogy

War for the Planet of the Apes is the latest entry in Fox's rebooted Apes franchise. By now we've seen Caesar grow from humble chimpanzee to leader of the ape uprising to ruler of a kingdom to freedom fighter. But he's hardly the only major ape player in these movies. After three films, the series has built up an impressive cast of photo-realistic primate heroes and villains.

We don't blame anyone who has trouble keeping track of all these characters. So to help, we've put together a slideshow breaking down all the major characters and factions in this reboot universe. Check it out below, but beware of spoilers for War for the Planet of the Apes!

It remains to be seen what direction Fox will take the series next, but with War for the Planet of the Apes dethroning Spider-Man: Homecoming at the box office, we imagine there's plenty of momentum building on the next movie.

This latest addition to the X-Men franchise introduced a new team of X-Men, one brought together by circumstance as heroes like Old Man Logan, Rogue, Bishop, Gambit, Beast and Fantomex are brought together to save Psylocke from a devastating psychic attack. Psylocke reveals to her teammates that the Shadow King has returned, more powerful than ever, and is currently trying to use the world's psychics as a foothold to return to the physical world.

First 160+ Cars Announced for Forza Motorsport 7

Turn 10 has announced the first 160+ cars that will feature in Forza Motorsport 7, including the largest collection of Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis in any racing game.

The first is the 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder, which set a production car lap record at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and crushed the production car record at the Nürburgring by 14 seconds. It's made almost entirely out of carbon fiber and has a 900 combined horsepower.

The second car is the 2011 Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. The car is half a ton lighter than the Gallardo and can go 60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds.

The third is the classic 1967 Ferrari  #23 Ferrari Spa 330 P4, which was designed after the P3 lost to the Ford GT40 in 1966. The P4 eventually went on to win the Prototype Championship.

Sony Seeking Beta Testers for Next Major PS4 Update

Sony is inviting PlayStation 4 owners to take part in a beta test for its next major system update. Registration is now open.

Though the announcement doesn't outline any upcoming features that testers will be giving a spin, it does note that the prior beta for system update 4.50 got early access to external HDD support, custom wallpapers, and Quick Menu refresh. This update is being pitched as similar in scope.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Director in Talks for Sequel

Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts will reportedly be back to helm the sequel.

Variety reports Watts is currently in talks with Sony and Marvel to return to the directorial chair, as the filmmaker wasn't locked in for a second installment before Homecoming's release.

Watts co-wrote Homecoming with Christopher Ford, Jonathan Goldstein, Chris McKenna, John Francis Daley and Erik Sommers. There's no word yet if this writing team will return as well.

The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in theaters on July 5, 2019 and will serve as the start of the fourth phase of the MCU.
