Metroid: Samus Returns Could Be the Metroid: Zero Mission Follow-Up I’ve Always Wanted
Metroid: Zero Mission introduced me to sidescrolling Metroid games, and while that form of Samus Aran's adventures has remained as frozen as a Chozo statue ever since, I've long wanted to see the franchise's older iteration be given the same treatment. Zero Mission remains one of my favorite platforming experiences more than a decade later, having made something old feel fresh and as vital as when it first debuted.
Thankfully, playing through the demo of Metroid: Samus Returns, which IGN first went hands-on with at E3, has me hopeful it could be the Zero Mission sequel I've wanted all this time. Though I'm wary some changes could rob the full experience of the franchise's magic, many of the additions felt like smart ways of modernizing the original game without completely altering the adventure players remember.
Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Mod Released on Steam
A free multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3 is now available for download on Steam.
The mod is from Nanos, a small team of programmers working independently from Square Enix. With the multiplayer mod, players can access various multiplayer modes, such as Team Death Match, Free Roam and Custom Races, on different servers with their own characteristics.
Players who are proficient with CSS, HTML and JavaScript can also make small tweaks to the game, like vehicle enhancements, and make more significant changes that will alter the game's world.
While the mod is free, you'll need a PC copy of Just Cause 3 to access it.

Young Justice Season 3 New Character Designs Revealed and New Character Announced

Suicide Squad Director on Why He’s Making Gotham City Sirens Instead of a Sequel
At San Diego Comic-Con 2017, we got a chance to chat with Suicide Squad director David Ayer about his upcoming Netflix film Bright, and we took that opportunity to ask him a few questions about his next DC movie, Gotham City Sirens.
When we asked Ayer why he chose to tell this story, as opposed to a direct sequel to Suicide Squad, he responded, "It's a story about three fantastic women who're trying to find their way in the world, and realize that they have more power together than they do individually." He added, "I have daughters, and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit."
The Gotham City Sirens comic, written by Batman: The Animated Series' creator Paul Dini, follows the trio of Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy, and their adventures around Gotham City. We pressed him on whether Harley Quinn, who will once again be played by Margot Robbie, will switch up her iconic look. Ever the professional, Ayer replied, "Let's put a pin in that. Maybe next Comic-Con." He did tease a bit, adding, "Everybody evolves."

The 5 The Best Modern War Films
The history of humanity is, tragically, also a history of war. The conflicts in which countries and cultures take arms against one another have shaped the map of the world and repeatedly redefined our place within it, and so it only makes sense that a significant number of films have been made about soldiers, about their battles, and about the consequences.
But it’s one thing to make a movie about a war with the benefit of hindsight. Modern war movies, made during or only shortly after the conflicts they dramatize, are trickier. Filmmakers can’t always see the forest for the trees, and frequently fall back on rah-rah action dynamics and propagandistic simplicity. And while some of the best modern war movies do those things too, the most interesting examples try to say something salient about the people embroiled in these battles, and explore each war from a different, illuminating angle.
Ghost Recon Wildlands’ New PvP Mode Gets Open Beta
Ubisoft has announced it will hold an open beta for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands' upcoming PvP mode, Ghost War, this summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The mode, which offers up a four-versus-four team deathmatch experience set on expansive, open maps, will be available in its entirety as a free update this fall to everyone who owns a copy of Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Ghost War features a variety of classes to choose from, allowing players to decide what type of role they want to have on the battlefield. New player-versus-player mechanics, like sound markers and suppressing fire, will be incorporated into the mode as well.
Ubisoft's military shooter has proven to be very successful, holding strong as the best-selling game of 2017 so far.
Dragon Ball FighterZ: Two New Characters Announced
The two latest characters to be added to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster are Piccolo and Krillin.
Piccolo is described as a technical character who has an extendable arm with which he grabs opponents. He's good at breaking through his opponent's guard, and he has fast and powerful beams, or you can charge up for a stronger attack. For an even larger strike, Piccolo either releases a Ki blast from afar or can combine it with a combo move.
Krillin is a skillful, tricky character who creates an image of himself before launching an attack. He lacks reach and power, but has techniques like the Kamehameha for a longer range battle. Plus, he'll be able to use the recognizable Senzu Bean which has restorative powers.
