7 Things You Need to Know About Outlander: Season 3
Outlander is finally returning to our TV screens this September with Season 3, and it's shaping up to be the Starz series' best season yet.
Cast members Caitriona Balfe (Claire), Tobias Menzies (Frank/Black Jack), Sophie Skelton (Brianna), Richard Rankin (Roger) and Sam Heughan (Jamie), who appeared via sattelite, took the 2017 TV Critics' Association summer press tour stage alongside executive producers Ron Moore and Maril Davis to preview Season 3. Here are the most important things you need to know heading into the new season. Plus, check out a brand new featurette of Season 3 below!
Given the cliffhanger ending to Season 2, it shouldn't be much of a surprise to learn that Claire and Jamie won't be immediately finding a solution to their separation across the centuries at the beginning of Season 3. Instead, the characters will spend multiple episodes apart as the viewers learn what's happened to them the previous two decades of their lives after the time jump forward.
Opinion: Marvel Needs More Disney Comics
It hasn't even been a decade since Disney purchased Marvel Comics, and already it's safe to say that investment has paid off for the company. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the biggest juggernauts in pop culture and has raked enough money to make even Scrooge McDuck do a double-take. But being under the Disney umbrella has benefited Marvel as well. For the past two years, Marvel has been publishing new Star Wars comics that have both expanded the new, Disney-approved Star Wars universe and helped Marvel weather the effects of declining superhero comic sales. Star Wars has quickly become a critical part of Marvel's publishing lineup. At this point, the only question is why Marvel isn't taking even greater advantage of their new Disney alliance. Why is Star Wars the only Disney property that Marvel is exploiting these days?
Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul PSVR Release Date
Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul will arrive August 15 on PlayStation VR.
Already available on Steam Early Access, the Paranormal Activity VR game is based on the movie franchise's mythology. That said, The Lost Soul doesn't focus on any particular installment.
The VR game places players in an average home set in the woods, and unsurprisingly, there's something scary lurking there.
Developer VRWERX is promising support for Paranormal Activity: The Last Soul after release, saying updates are in the works for the horror game.

Starz Greenlights New Series from Twilight Author
The Rook, a new spy thriller series executive produced by Twilight Saga creator Stephenie Meyer, is coming to Starz.
According to the network's announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour, the series is being produced by a partnership between Lionsgate and Liberty Global, with Stephen Garrett serving as showrunning executive producer.
The Rook tells the story of a young woman with special abilities who wakes up in London with amnesia to find herself being chased by a paranormal threat. As she struggles with her unique abilities, she must fight to uncover her past.
Writers Sam Holcroft (Rules for Living) and Al Muriel (Precious & Rich) are adapting and co-producing The Rook, which is based on Daniel O’Malley's novel of the same name.
The Last Tycoon: Season 1 Spoiler Discussion
This is full-spoiler discussion page for Amazon's The Last Tycoon, for those who've watched all nine episodes of the series. For my overall, non-spoilery thoughts, read my full The Last Tyccon review.
So this series took a pretty dark turn towards the end, didn't it? There were certainly some darker moments earlier in the series, but it wasn't until the final stretch where the show's Golden Age Hollywood veneer fell away and The Last Tycoon became full-on Great Gatsby-style tragedy.
The common thread among all the main characters is that they all achieved the professional success they were seeking but at the expense of their personal happiness. Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer) got his Oscar, but completely torpedoed his relationship with Monroe Stahr (Matt Bomer) and his daughter Cecelia (Lilly Collins) in the process. For his part, Monroe was able to keep his magnum opus alive by putting it in the hands of another studio, but his romance with Kathleen Moore (Dominique McElligott) turned out to be a giant sham. Even smaller characters like Max Miner (Mark O'Brien) suffered a great deal in the end. Max managed to crawl his way up from poverty to a key position in the Brady American Pictures hierarchy but found himself helping his new boss cover up a murder and blackmail Stahr. With the exception of Cecelia, it doesn't really seem like anyone ended the season in a better state than they started it.
American Gods: Starz Boss Says ‘There’s No End in Sight’
Starz is still all in on Bryan Fuller and Michael Green's adaptation of American Gods, even though there is no set plan for when Season 2 will hit our TV screens.
Starz president Chris Albrecht spoke to reporters at the 2017 summer TV Critics' Association press tour about the future of the Neil Gaiman adaptation, and was confident about its long term future at the network.
"We are certainly on board for as long as the show makes sense for Starz, and there's no end in sight," he said.
However, with Gaiman and Green still breaking story on Season 2, Albrecht said there still is no target release date. "We're actively pursuing making sure that we can get it as soon as possible," he said.
Star Wars: Emilia Clarke’s Chewbacca Instagram Video
It seems Daenerys Targaryen herself Emilia Clarke and Chewbacca are quite close friends.
Clarke, whose role in the Han Solo anthology film is still a mystery, posted an Instagram video of Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) from the set of the movie, where the duo celebrate the actress hitting 10 million followers on Instagram.
Check out the video below, in which Chewie gives Clarke a big hug.
Hayley Atwell Would Love a Peggy Carter Marvel Movie
Given the fact that the MCU's Peggy Carter lived a long life and had many untold adventures as one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D. -- only some of which have been documented in movies and on TV -- and given the fact that it was announced that Captain Marvel will take place in the '90s, fans have been speculating about all the different ways Peggy could come back to the MCU.
I spoke to star Hayley Atwell, at the Television Critics Association press tour where she appeared for her Howards End miniseries on Starz, and asked her whether or not she'd love to return to the MCU.
New Details on Star Trek: Discovery Shake-Up
New details about Star Trek: Discovery have been revealed, shedding light on why Bryan Fuller left the series.
According to the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly (via Trek Core), Fuller pitched to CBS the idea of having "multiple serialized anthology shows." Discovery would serve as the start, which would then carry on into the Kirk and Picard eras, before extending even further to a time that hasn't yet been explored in Star Trek.
