Walking Dead: Season 8 Is Taking the Fight Back to Negan

The Walking Dead returns in just a little over two months on October 22nd, but to preview the new season and look back at the big moments of Season 7, actor Tom Payne came by IGN for a sit-down interview.

The full interview is below, but one of the most interesting things Payne talked about was how the upcoming Season 8 premiere, which is also the show's 100th episode, serves as a jumping off point for what's to come.

"It's been just crazy action, and really exciting to film and to read and to be involved in," said Payne, who plays Jesus. "Scott Gimple's spoken a lot about the 100th episode being a jump off for the next hundred episodes. Season 8 certainly starts with a big bang and then continues to ramp up, which is really exciting. I know the audience will be really happy with certainly how it starts, because they're taking the fight back, and then every single episode in the first half there's a moment which makes you go, 'Wow, oh my god, I can't believe that.'"

Rick and Morty Will No Longer Livestream for Free

Future episodes of Rick and Morty will not be livestreamed by Adult Swim.

The network caused a storm of excitement amongst fans of the show when the third season premiered earlier this month, by livestreaming the first two episodes for free, and following up with more of the same for the season’s third episode (although the stream was not without its problems).

This week, however, as Polygon reports, fans were disappointed to find that instead of episode four, Adult Swim instead streamed a fake live-action version of the show, with the episode only airing on traditional television or as a catch-up option for those with a cable subscription.

Blizzard Admits it Shouldn’t Have Rebranded Battle.net

Blizzard has reversed its decision to drop the name Battle.net from its online networking service, rebranding the service as 'Blizzard Battle.net'.

"When we announced that we’d be transitioning away from the Battle.net name for our online-gaming service, we suspected that the shift would be challenging," said Blizzard in a brief statement. "We understood that Battle.net stood for something special—it represents years of shared history and enjoyment, community and friendship, for all of us and our players."

The Battle.net networking technology, described by Blizzard as its "central nervous system", was established in 1996. With the modern normalisation of online gaming, Blizzard no longer saw it necessary to have a separately-named online service to help facilitate people's understanding of the concept of online gaming, and dumped the moniker last September.
