Teaming Up in Sonic Forces
There are a few different types of levels in Sonic Forces. As SEGA showed off at E3, Modern Sonic levels are fast, featuring big moments of spectacle, while Classic Sonic levels are more about platforming and traditional Sonic gameplay. A third type of level is built around the custom-made hero characters you can create in Sonic Forces, offering gameplay tailored around the ability you pick for your character.
At Gamescom, SEGA is showing off yet another type of level: Tag Team, which teams up Modern Sonic with your player-made character. In a level we played, Sonic and the custom character have to break into one of Eggman’s factories and open up a path to let in the resistance, and you control both characters simultaneously.
The Last Jedi: Two New First Order Vehicles Revealed
The Resistance will have to go up against the First Order's more dangerous AT-ATs and warships in The Last Jedi.
Revealed via The Star Wars Show (which you can view here), the new AT-AT is called the AT-M6 (All Terrain Megacaliber Six) and features a deadly-looking mounted cannon. It's a lot larger than a regular AT-AT and moves like an elephant with its "simian-like gait" which stabilizes that dangerous cannon.

Every Upcoming DC Movie in the Works
With director Matt Reeves stating that The Batman won't be part of the DC Extended Universe, as well as the big news about the non-DCEU Joker origin-story movie reportedly being produced by film legend Martin Scorcese, it's been a big week for caped crusader cinema.
Add to that the announcement of a standalone (DCEU) Joker/Harley Quinn movie, starring Jared Leto and Margot Robbie, and it definitely felt like time to update our "Every Upcoming DCEU Movie" gallery with all the new developments.
Battlefield 1’s Incursions Mode Turns WW1 Into an eSport
I’m already bad at Battlefield 1 (I often find myself wishing there was War Poet class who earned tickets for sitting down in a barn and writing sadly as the bombs go off) so to find out that the brand new mode I was playing was a 5v5 match-up that puts a premium on skillful teamplay was worrying. To subsequently find out that the opposing team was full of eSports pros, and that I was the only English speaker on my team was positively frightening. The match went as you’d expect - but in its own cruel way, that teaches me everything I need to know about Incursions.
The mode twists series staple Conquest into a tight, fraught sport. Getting a kill, destroying a tank or capturing a point earns you one point. Earn 10 points and you win a set. 5 sets brings the match to half time. World War 1 has a half time now - that’s weird. It’s clear then, that this is Conquest, amplified. There are two certainties in Battlefield: death and tactics, and they mean more than ever here, making teamwork key.

Destiny 2 Preview: Exploring the European Dead Zone
This is the first time we’ve been let loose to explore the European Dead Zone, and it’s a place you’ll want to know well during your Destiny 2 travels. Filled with fighting enemy factions, you’ll want to work with your fellow guardians to take back the space, solve its mysteries and fill your pockets with all the loot they can hold.
The European Dead Zone is home to your new ally Devrim Kay. He’s your sniper wielding point of contact, giving you intel during quests, and much sought after loot like unique armor sets acquired through legendary engrams. Earn these in exchange for reputation building items like planetary materials or EDZ tokens. Earn these through Adventure side-quests, Lost Sectors, Treasure Chests, Public Events or roaming world bosses. They’re all here for both story fans or collectors, but if you want to grind up those light levels quickly, the frequent public events are there for some big XP gains. Even after you’ve hit the level cap, you’re incentivized to keep playing as you’ll earn a Bright engram after you've refilled your XP bar. Exchange them on the farm for some coveted items which I’ll chat a bit more about near launch.

Justice League Dark Reportedly Heading Back for Rewrites
Warner Bros.' Justice League Dark movie is reportedly facing rewrites.
This news comes by way of Variety film reporter Justin Kroll, who revealed on Twitter that, with Warner Bros. feeling "underwhelmed" by what was shown so far from directors, the script is now being reworked.
Justice League Dark, which currently does not have a release date, lost its director Doug Liman. It director Andy Muschietti was reportedly in the running to replace Liman. Speaking with IGN, Liman revealed he departed the project due to scheduling conflicts, as he's currently busy making Chaos Walking and hopes to soon start working on the sequel to Edge of Tomorrow.
Sea of Thieves Wants to be The World’s Friendliest Multiplayer Game
On one of the walls In the Gamescom interview room for Sea of Thieves, a quote from a player called ‘Clumsy George’ is brought to my attention. It reads:
“But is this a game alone? I suspect them of making some kind of social project? We 4 or 5, almost perfect strangers were able to work together in 15 minutes like an oiled machine. We talked, we joked and dug up treasures like it was something we’d done for years…”
That quote, said Rare’s Shelley Preston (Senior Designer), Joe Neate (Executive Producer), and Craig Duncan (Studio Head), came from a larger community post George posted about his time in the Sea of Thieves Insider Program, and spoke volumes about the community Rare is trying to create.
