Nier: Automata Passes 2 Million Copies Shipped
Worldwide shipments and digital sales for Nier: Automata have now exceeded the 2 million mark.
This is the latest milestone from Platinum Games' critically acclaimed action RPG. In May, Square Enix announced shipments and digital sales of Nier: Automata eclipsed 1.5 million units worldwide.
The game is currently available on Steam at a 35% discount until September 25 and at a 36% discount on the PSN Store until September 27.
Square has also announced that the NieR: Automata/NIER: Gestalt & Replicant original soundtrack vinyl box set will be available to preorder soon and will be released in December. The box set features four vinyl LPs, with a variety of tracks selected by series composer Keiichi Okabe, and also sports exclusive illustrations from Tokyo Ghoul illustrator Sui Ishida.
Pokemon’s Newest App Is Adorable and Completely Free
Pokemon Playhouse, a brand-new Pokemon app designed for preschoolers, is now available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
The app is completely free of charge, with no in-app purchases. Pokemon Playhouse features an indoor and outdoor environment for kids to explore, Pokemon to encounter, and activities to complete.
By engaging in various activities, like grooming Pokemon and identifying Pokemon among the starts in the night sky, players will be able to hatch Eggs, adding more Pokemon to their collection. Users can also feed their Pokemon or take them to the park. Pokemon Playground features over 50 different Pokemon for players to find and interact with.
Additionally, the app includes various puzzles to complete, as well as a story time feature that fleshes out the backstory of your Pokemon Playhouse pals.
Netflix Renews BoJack Horseman for Season 5
BoJack Horseman is officially coming back for Season 5.
Netflix made the announcement on Twitter via a video, (which you can view here), of a “clingy Netflix exec” texting BoJack about the renewal.
BoJack Horseman follows Will Arnett as the titular self-hating, washed-up ‘90s sitcom star who is also a horse. Along with Arnett, the core voice cast includes Amy Sedaris as Princess Carolyn, Aaron Paul as Todd, Alison Brie as Diane and Paul F. Tompkins as Mr. Peanutbutter.
The fourth season of the series recently premiered on Netflix earlier this month. In IGN's review of Season 4, we say that the "spotlight on BoJack's family strife makes for some of the series' best material in an occasionally uneven season."
How The Gifted Changes the Look of the X-Men
Fox is about to introduce a new live-action X-Men universe with The Gifted. This new TV series will focus on a ragtag band of mutant heroes as they band together and try to survive in a world where the X-Men have seemingly vanished. The series will feature an eclectic cast of mutants, some of whom have appeared in the X-Men movies, others who have yet to make their live-action debut and others still who don't directly correspond to any existing X-Men characters.

Ron Howard Teases Iconic Star Wars Scene in Han Solo Spin-off
The Han Solo Star Wars anthology film may include the Kessel Run - you may remember that Han and the Millennium Falcon made it in less than 12 parsecs (or at least he said he did).
Writing on Twitter, Ron Howard - the replacement director on the spin-off film - posted what looks like a shot in a mine, with the caption "Spicey?"

It was another big week of comics. DC rolled out more tie-ins to the Dark Nights: Metal event while also kicking off an epic team-up between Wonder Woman and Conan. Marvel continued their buildup to Marvel Legacy and delivered multiple new Star Wars comics. Elsewhere, Valiant relaunched Bloodshot and IDW debuted a new Samurai Jack comic.

Doom on Switch Is Definitely Still Doom
Since getting a Switch in March, my main thought has been “I wish every game were on this thing.” Even still, I never expected I’d be playing Doom, of all games, on Switch at a preview event last week. But I did, and I’m happy to say that it’s still very much Doom.

The most important thing for a Doom port to get right is that sense of speed - sprinting through martian facilities with grace and fluidity as you tear demons limb from limb - and the Switch version nails that side of it. Simply put, it feels exactly like Doom should, just in a much smaller package.
The Witness Now Available on iPhone and iPad
Players can now solve The Witness' mind-bending puzzles on the go.
The critically-acclaimed game from lead designer Jonathan Blow and developer Thekla Inc. is now out for the iPhone and iPad via the App Store for $9.99 USD.
The Witness first released for PlayStation 4 and PC back in January 2016 before later coming to Xbox One. IGN scored the game a 10 in our glowing review, calling it a "beautiful, powerful, and cleverly designed puzzle game with a wealth of mysteries to unravel."

A Fast & Furious Game From the Developer of Project CARS Sounds Imminent
After dropping in on a Project CARS 2 stream on the eve of the game’s release, Slightly Mad Studios’ CEO Ian Bell has hinted at what’s next for the specialist driving game developer – and it sounds like something considerably different to the simulation-focused Project CARS.
Bell joined Australian YouTuber SpotTheOzzie (via Eurogamer) for an extremely lengthy chat about Project CARS 2, but also touched on what else the studio is up to.
“Guess what the latest Need for Speed is doing, and have a think about which Hollywood film they're copying,” hinted Bell during the conversation. “And then, I can tell you that we have a six-year deal with that major Hollywood company to make games that will beat what Need for Speed is currently doing. For the next six years.”
