Fantastic Beasts 2 Director Defends Keeping Johnny Depp
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald director David Yates has spoken out about the controversial decision to keep Jonny Depp on for the sequel.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yates defended the decision to have Depp play Grindelwald in the sequel, which has garnered backlash because Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard, previously accused the actor of both physical and emotional abuse. Yates says these accusations don't tally with the kind of person he's seen while working with the actor.
"Honestly, there's an issue at the moment where there's a lot of people being accused of things, they're being accused by multiple victims, and it's compelling and frightening," said Yates. In the case of Depp, however, Yates noted it was only accusations from a single person. "I can only tell you about the man I see every day: He's full of decency and kindness, and that's all I see," the director said.

Epic Sues Minor for Cheating in Fortnite, Mother Responds
After Epic Games sued two Fortnite players for cheating, it has been revealed that one of the accused cheaters is a minor who's 14 years old.
The mother of the teenager sent the court a letter, which you can read on Kotaku, that pushes back against Epic's case against her child. She notes that, for minors, Fortnite's terms require parental consent, which she never provided.
Instead of going after the websites providing the software to cheat, the mother claims that by targeting individual players, the publisher is "using a 14 year-old child as a scapegoat." She also claims her son didn't help create the software for cheating, as Epic alleges, but instead just downloaded it as a user.

Square Enix on the Future of the Deus Ex Franchise
Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda recently discussed the future of the Deus Ex franchise, shooting down rumors that the series is dead.

Matsuda emphasized that Deus Ex is a "very important franchise" to Square Enix, especially because it adds variety among its portfolio of franchises as a first-person title. In fact, he said the company is "already internally discussing and exploring" where to take the series with the next entry.
