George Clooney Coming to Hulu for Catch-22 Series

George Clooney is coming back to TV for a new series, thanks to Hulu.

The streaming network has ordered a six-part limited series based on the iconic novel Catch-22, which Clooney will produce, direct and appear in. Clooney will produce through his Smokehouse Pictures production company, alongside Paramount TV and Anonymous Content.

Hulu describes Catch-22 as the story of the incomparable, artful dodger, Yossarian, a US Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he’ll be in violation of Catch-22, a hilariously sinister bureaucratic rule which specifies that a concern for one’s own safety in the face of dangers which are real and immediate is the process of a rational mind; a man is considered insane if he willingly continues to fly dangerous combat missions, but a request to be removed from duty is evidence of sanity and therefore makes him ineligible to be relieved from duty.

The Walking Dead Gets Season 9 Renewal and New Showrunner

The Walking Dead has been renewed for Season 9, but there are changes afoot.

Writer and co-executive producer Angela Kang is being promoted to showrunner for the upcoming season, which will premiere in late 2018, while current showrunner Scott Gimple is being elevated to a new role as Chief Content Officer of what AMC describes as "the entire Dead television universe, including The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and potential brand extensions on a variety of platforms."

The move makes sense as The Walking Dead and Fear begin to converge -- this season will see Walking Dead character Morgan Jones (Lennie James) cross over to Fear, and Gimple was recently added as an executive producer on the prequel series. The vote of confidence in Gimple from AMC seems to hint that there may be more spinoffs or companion shows ahead.

10 Things You Should Know About Monster Hunter World Multiplayer

Though the Monster Hunter World betas let us experiment extensively with all 14 weapons, they aren’t great representations of what the game’s online experience will be like at launch. We were able to play the first 12 hours in a preview build with multiplayer compatibility, and learned a lot. Here are nine cool things about Monster Hunter World co-op, and one not so great thing, that we think you should know about.

Before I get into the meat of online co-op, let’s just get this out of the way: You can play the entire game with no internet connection, by yourself. I don’t recommend it, as one of the huge draws of Monster Hunter is the ability to hunt with three friends, but you can. At least now the voice-acting and more robust story may make single-player feel more like a traditional campaign, and you do have a Felyne Palico friend. Speaking of offline play, there is also no couch co-op, and (sadly) there never has been.

Fantastic Beasts 2: Daniel Radcliffe on Johnny Depp Casting Backlash

Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter films, has spoken up about the decision to keep Johnny Depp on as Gillert Grindelwald in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Speaking to EW, Radcliffe said "it's a very hard thing for me," because he wants to support the producers who gave him "a great start in life and an amazing job." He avoided taking a stand one way or another, for or against the decision to keep Depp on.

Depp has been accused of abuse by his ex-wife Amber Heard. Heard released photos of herself, bruised and battered, allegedly at the hands of Depp.

Solo Star Says Ron Howard Will Make a ‘Beautiful Film’

Solo: A Star Wars Story has had a bumpy road to the screen, after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were booted from the movie mid-filming and replaced by Ron Howard for a lengthy reshoot.

But the stars are feeling optimistic about the project despite the behind-the-scenes drama. Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge is playing an unrevealed (but reportedly CGI-based) role in Solo, and spoke to IGN about the experience of working with Howard while promoting her upcoming BBC America thriller Killing Eve at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
