Deadpool 2 Releasing in Theaters Early

Fox's upcoming slate of X-Men spinoff films have all seen release date shifts, including a major delay for New Mutants and an earlier release date for Deadpool 2.

THR reports Deadpool 2 will now be released in theaters on May 18 rather than June 1, which puts it opposite Sony Pictures' Slenderman and one week ahead of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Meanwhile, New Mutants, which Fox previously had slated for an April 13 release, will now not hit theaters until February 22, 2019. With many estimations expecting the Fox-Disney merger to take about 12 months to be vetted and either approved or denied, it is unclear what would happen to New Mutants should the deal close before its release.

PUBG Has Over 3 Million Players on Xbox One

In less than a month, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds already has over 3 million players on Xbox One.

In fact, on the Xbox Wire, Microsoft mentions that the PUBG milestone was surpassed "through the end of 2017." That means the number doesn't account for the first 11 days of this year for the Xbox Game Preview title.

Previously, Microsoft announced how it only took 48 hours for PUBG to pass 1 million players on Xbox One.

PUBG got a patch with frame rate improvements on Xbox One earlier this week. The patch also fixed some crashing issues and upped weapon damage against vehicles.

IGN has reached out to Fox for comment and will update this story should we receive a response.

How Electric Dreams Is the Black Mirror Alternative You Need

On the surface, it would be easy to compare Amazon's new show Electric Dreams, the 10-episode series based on short stories by Philip K. Dick, to Netflix's Black Mirror. Both anthology series are set against the backdrop of a technology-driven future, and tend to have a rather bleak outlook.

But if you dig below the surface a bit, you might find that Electric Dreams is offering one of the only things that's often (but not always) missing from Black Mirror: hope. At least, that's what executive producer Bryan Cranston's goal is.

While Black Mirror may frequently leave viewers wondering if humanity is already doomed, Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams could be the optimistic alternative you're looking for. "I don't want to sound Pollyanna-ish, but Electric Dreams actually has a very positive outlook on life, hidden in this dystopian sci-fi future," Cranston says.

Why You Can’t Digitally Buy Some Transformers Games

Activision's suite of Transformers games, including High Moon Studios' Transformers: War for Cybertron and Platinum Games' Transformers Devastation, disappeared from digital marketplaces like PSN, the Xbox Store, and Steam at the end of 2017. And there's a simple explanation for that.

Hasbro confirmed to IGN its contract with Activision to publish Transformers games has expired. However, Hasbro is not at this time discussing what, if any, plans it might have for Transformers games on PC and consoles in the future. Multiple mobile games, including Transformers: Forged to Fight, are still ongoing, however.

IGN has reached out to Activision for more details about the contract expiration and will update this story should they respond.
