AFL Clubs Recognise That Esports Are Sports – Why Hasn’t Everyone?
"This should not be an Olympic sport because it is not a sport," declared Shelly Horton on Channel 9's Weekend Today earlier this week. In the news ticker the title of the discussion said "Revenge of the Nerds?" in all caps. Peter Stefanovic put up a robust defense of competitive gaming, but it was moot. Shelly had a catchy way to dismiss the concept of esports as a sport.
"You need a little bit of huffy puffy," she said. "The only thing moving are thumbs, that is not a sport."
Should video games be an Olympic sport? Professional video gaming or "E-Sports" is already a $1.5 billion industry but it's predicted to grow by 50% in two years. What are your thoughts? #9Today pic.twitter.com/078r9I8DcM

PlayStation Will Not Sell ‘Super Seducer’ Game About Picking Up Women
PlayStation has opted not to release Super Seducer, a game designed to teach pickup artist techniques, on its online store.
Motherboard reports the choose your own adventure-style game was set to release today, however, PlayStation has confirmed to the publication that it won't be listing the title.
Star and creator of the game Richard La Ruina told Motherboard, “My comment is that I have no comment on this,” over email in regards to the change.
The game seems closer to an interactive movie and features live-action videos in which players can choose different ways of interacting with women. Richard La Ruina will act out the often ridiculous scenes and provide commentary on the player's choices.
Michael B. Jordan to Have Inclusion Rider for All Upcoming Projects
Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan has announced he will add an inclusion rider to all future projects produced by his company Outlier Society Productions.
Jordan made the announcement on Instagram, following Frances McDormand's call for inclusion riders during her acceptance speech for Best Actress at last weekend's Academy Awards.
"In support of the women & men who are leading this fight," Jordan wrote, "I will be adopting the Inclusion Rider for all projects produced by my company Outlier Society. I’ve been privileged to work with powerful woman & persons of color throughout my career & it’s Outlier’s mission to continue to create for talented individuals going forward."
Superman Does the Unthinkable in Batman #42
Superman and the Justice League declared war on Batman this week, and the fight took a pretty dark turn.
Warning: this issue contains spoilers for Batman #42!
This issue is hardly the first time the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel have come to blows, but the outcome of their latest battle was quite a bit different. Not only did Batman lose this confrontation, Superman literally punched him to death.
Thor: Ragnarok Producer on Asgard and Odin’s Fates
Full spoilers ahead for Thor: Ragnarok!
Ragnarok, in Norse mythology, means the end of all things and, for as much goofy fun as the film is, Thor: Ragnarok indeed ended with the destruction of Asgard. I recently chatted with one of the film's executive producers, Marvel Studios' Victoria Alonso, about the decision to destroy Thor's homeland in an action-comedy rather than a drama.
"We don’t want to destroy any of the realms, but part of the game is that there is destruction," Alonso said. "And you can’t have Thor: Ragnarok if you don’t have the end of his place of birth. ... You have to be true to what you’re saying, right? If you’re saying Thor, the greatest party of all time, and you don’t have the party in your film, then why have that title?"
Amazon Alexa is Randomly, Creepily Laughing at People
Some Amazon Alexa devices have started randomly cackling unprompted, and are really freaking their owners out.
A number of freaked out Echo owners took to social media shared stories and videos of various Amazon Echo devices began randomly emitting "witch-like" laughter, sometimes while their owners were in a completely different part of the house.
Amazon confirmed to The Verge it is aware of the problem "and working to fix it."
