Why the True Story of The Terror is as Scary as the Show

On the surface, AMC's new series The Terror is about a mysterious monster hunting and devouring the crews of two massive ships lost in an icy abyss with little hope of survival. However, as horrifying as the series -- and the Dan Simmons novel it's based on -- may be, it's the true story buried this monstrous fable that might be the most intriguing piece of the puzzle.

In the 1840s, the HMS Terror and the HMS Erebus were lost in the Northwest Passage (the route between the Pacific and the Atlantic through the Arctic Ocean) when the ships became lodged in thick ice, with both crews disappearing, never to be seen or heard from again. While it was well over a century before the ships' true fates were discovered (it's believed the crews died from exposure, starvation or botulism, and there was some evidence of cannibalism among the remains), The Terror has gone into incredible detail when it comes to setting the scene as best it can, with as much historical accuracy as possible. And it all started with a blog.

Deadpool 2 Has Better Test Screenings than the First Movie

Deadpool 2 has reportedly scored high in recent test screenings, and they're better than what the first film received.

THR reports the sequel scored a 98 in one screening and a 94 in another screening, while the first Deadpool's highest test screening was only a 91. Fox will be using the 98-scoring cut of the film, according to THR.

If you're not familiar with what test screenings are, it's when movie studios recruit a handful of people to watch a specific cut of a film before that movie is released in theaters. The audience then rates the film using boxes marked excellent, very good, good, fair, and poor.

Frank Oz Thinks Disney Is Mishandling the Muppets

Legendary puppeteer and Yoda actor Frank Oz isn't too happy with how Disney has been treating the Muppets franchise.

THR reports Oz believes that, despite Disney's best intentions with Kermit and the rest of the gang, it doesn't understand how to properly utilize Jim Henson's beloved creation.

"As much as Disney loves The Muppets and wants the best for The Muppets — and they truly believe they can do it — they don't get it," Oz said. "They don't get the true rebellion and true affection underneath those characters."

However, Oz thinks there's still some of that Jim Henson spirit still left in the property, and offers Disney a piece of advice on how to best move forward with the Muppets.

The awesome news is in: Daniel Bryan's been cleared to wrestle by the WWE - and he's (maybe) most definitely tagging with Shane McMahon against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans!

RIP anyone who has to follow that match, by the way. Even just in a "TV role," Bryan's been the most over dude on the ranch.

While we're all riding this roller coaster of joy and enthusiasm - with possibly a little worry that he might flat out get hurt again and be taken away from us - let's sift through some of the superstars Daniel Bryan might face in this new revival (note: The Revival are not on the list).

The 15 Best Sci-Fi Movie Soundtracks

Since the birth of the theremin, the importance of inventive music to science-fiction filmmaking has been indisputable. And with recent Marvel soundtracks enjoying vinyl-collector levels of popularity, we’ve decided to revisit some of the best song collections in modern sci-fi films.

Some of these entries occupy the murky space between “soundtrack” and “score,” but each one made the list because of how important the presence of music (whether popular or original) is to the narrative or overall vibe of the film. (Or because I think they’re really good songs, dammit.) And with respect to John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith, we’re looking for less “standard classical” and more “Wait a sec, was that the Fairy Fountain music from Legend of Zelda?” Here they are, in chronological order…
