System Shock Remake Now Scheduled for 2020 Release

The System Shock remake, a project that was Kickstarted in 2016, has now got a release window of Q1 2020.

Nightdive Studios put the project on hiatus last month to give the team time to "return to

vision" of the game. In an interview with PC Gamer at GDC, Nightdive's business development, director Larry Kuperman, reiterated that the studio wasn't "going in the right direction with the game" based on what they had promised backers and the feedback they were getting from them.

Pokemon Go Adding Mew Through New Quest System

Pokemon Go looks to be introducing the legendary Mew through a new quest system coming "later this week".

As detailed on the Pokemon Go blog, Field Research and Special Research are two new types of quest, which offer rewards for completing given objectives.

Field Research quests are earned by interacting with PokéStops, which will now grant you small tasks like capturing or battling specific Pokemon. Special Research "may be requested by Professor Willow himself" - while we don't have full details, that's presumably objectives given to all players simultaneously.

Both Research types grant rewards upon completion, "including a variety of useful items and even encounters with certain Pokémon", with rewards increasing depending on how difficult the task was.

Why Undertaker Should Fight Cena as ‘American Badass” Undertaker

Okay, so I'm prepared for most of you to haaaaate this. I get that. This is sacred land here and I'm about to trample all over it.

A few months ago, I argued why The Undertaker vs. John Cena should happen. Then, back at the end of February, after Cena told everyone that a match against Undertaker was "impossible," I insisted it was still very possible, smelling the musty musk of a misdirect. Buckle up for more here, funfans.

Humans Season 3 Sneak Peek Answers One Big Finale Question

Fans of AMC and Channel 4's sci-fi thriller Humans won't have to wait too much longer for their Synth fix; IGN can exclusively reveal that Season 3 of Humans will premiere Stateside on Tuesday, June 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.

Here's what we know about the upcoming season, courtesy of AMC: "One year after the dawn of consciousness, a decimated and oppressed Synth population fights to survive in a world that hates and fears them. In a divided Britain, Synths and Humans struggle to broker an uneasy peace, but when fractures within the Synth community itself start to appear, all hope of stability is threatened. Set against the maelstrom of political chaos, the ethical complexities of the dawn of a new species play out across a thrilling multi-stranded narrative. As the synth family, Mia (Gemma Chan), Niska (Emily Berrington) and Max (Ivanno Jeremiah) continue to battle for their right to survival, Joe (Tom Goodman-Hill) Laura (Katherine Parkinson) and their children Mattie, Toby and Sophie struggle to come to terms with the cataclysmic events of the last series and their deeply polarized views on the implications of the singularity."

Worms Creator Could Become the UK’s Biggest Publisher

Team17, the UK studio behind the Worms series, The Escapists, and Overcooked, is reportedly planning a stock market listing of £200 million.

The Times reports that the studio and publisher has stockbrokers working on the float, with the announcement expected imminently.

Publishers are in short supply in the UK - if the listing goes through, it would likely make Team17 the country's largest.

Lloyds Development Capital, part of the Lloyds Banking Group, paid £16.5 million for a stake in the company in 2016. The same year, Team17 reported a loss after tax of £37,686 after generating £6.5m in revenue.

New Teen Titans Team Has Unexpected Lobo Twist

DC Comics' Teen Titans series will welcome a new creative team and feature a new team roster starting with June's Issue #20.

The team roster will include familiar faces like Damian Wayne (Robin), Kid Flash and Red Arrow, as well as some completely new characters. One among them is Lobo's teenage daughter named Crush. Designed by artist Jorge Jimenez, the white skin, black spiky hair, and chained weapon certainly leave no doubt that she is Lobo's offspring. Given that Lobo is known as the "Last Czarnian," it's quite the surprise to hear there's another one out there, and it's his daughter, no less. The other two new characters are named Djinn and Roundhouse.

Why I Still Play Chrono Trigger Today

There have been some absolutely brilliant video games released over the last few years. I’ve battled on the streets of Numbani, I’ve scoured the ruins of Libertalia, and I’ve explored far and wide across Hyrule. And yet, as memorable as those experiences are, I still find myself going back to a title that’s over two decades old: Chrono Trigger. To some, it is an old game that was recently given a sub-par release on Steam; to me though, it is a deeply nostalgic experience and the most important video game ever.

Chrono Trigger is a reminder of my adolescence, and a game in which I see countless little parallels to the life I once lived in a rural Australian town. The very beginning, for instance, in which Crono is woken by his mother so he wouldn’t miss the Millennial Fair, takes me back to how excited I would be when my mum told me that the annual amusement park show was finally in town.
