New Halloween Film Will Feature Michael Myers’ Original Mask

This year's new Halloween movie will feature Michael Myers wearing his original mask, according to the film's makeup artist.

In an interview with Halloween Daily News, special effects makeup artist Christopher Nelson revealed the mask won't look pristine or new in this upcoming film, but will reflect the passage of time.

"The film takes place 40 years later, so you’re not going to have that same mask, it’s not going to be this pristine, beautiful thing that it was in 1978," Nelson said. "You have to approach it from that standpoint."

Instead, the mask will look weathered and deteriorated since the new Halloween does take place four decades after the original. Nelson studied hundreds of books and photos to master this broken down look for Michael Myers' iconic mask.
