A Quiet Place’s John Krasinski Developing New Mars Movie
After the massive success of A Quiet Place at the box office this past weekend, director John Krasinski has lined up his next project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Krasinski's next film will be a sci-fi thriller called Life on Mars and based on Cecil Castellucci's short story, We Have Always Lived on Mars. The movie follows the descendants of an abandoned colony on Mars. When one of the descendants discovers she can breathe the air on Mars, her life changes forever.
Mulan: Disney’s Live-Action Remake Casts Rogue One’s Donnie Yen
Rogue One's Donnie Yen is set to star as new character Commander Tung opposite Liu Yifei's Mulan in Disney’s live-action adaptation.
Deadline reports that Yen will star as Tung, a "mentor and teacher" to Mulan. Yen is familiar to Western audiences for his role as Chirrut Îmwe in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but his star shines even brighter in China, where he is best known for his work in the Ip Man franchise.
New Zealander Niki Caro (Whale Rider) is directing the adaptation. According to Caro, the live-action Mulan may not be a musical. Instead, it will be "a big, girly martial arts epic."
Jake Gyllenhaal Says He Won’t Play Matt Reeves’ Batman
Jake Gyllenhaal has shot down a rumour he will be replacing Ben Affleck as the caped crusader.
During an interview with China News Asia, Gyllenhaal was asked point blank if there was any truth to last year's report that he was The Batman director Matt Reeves' first pick to take over.
“Wow, that’s a very difficult question,” said Gyllenhaal. “The answer to that question is ‘no’.”
Last year, Ben Affleck stated that he wanted to make a graceful exit from the role. It's also been speculated that Reeves' movie may be released under the new DC films banner featuring standalone movies which are not necessarily in the continuity of the DC Extended Universe films, and like The Joker origin movie, will not star the actors who have played those characters in the DCEU.

So far, "Thanos Wins" has pitted the Mad Titan against everyone from Cosmic Ghost Rider (more on this kooky character here) to a Mjolnir-wielding Silver Surfer. But in the end, the only opponent truly worthy of Thanos is Thanos himself. As the young and old versions of the character greet Death in this issue, Thanos realizes that he had one more battle left to fight.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has now dominated our lives for 10 years, which means that many of the stars of Avengers: Infinity War have been hanging out for the better part of a decade at this point. And thankfully, they all still seem to really like each other.
Infinity War promises to bring together all of Earth's (not to mention the rest of the galaxy's) mightiest heroes, reuniting old friends and introducing new combinations in the fight against Thanos - and it looks like the actors are just as stoked about that as we are, if a newly released featurette from Marvel is any indication.
Sacha Baron Cohen Cast in Lead Role for Netflix Spy Drama
Sacha Baron Cohen has been cast in the lead role for an upcoming historical spy drama series for Netflix.
According to Variety, the show called The Spy will be a six-episode series recounting the story of Israeli spy Eli Cohen, who infiltrated Syrian high society in the 1960s.
Eli rose through the political ranks, making many important government and military connections, and his actions have had lasting consequences, even shaping the Middle East of today. The series' release date has yet to be announced.
Gideon Raff, who created the Prisoners of War series on which Homeland is based, will write and direct the show, and Alain Goldman and Légende Films are set to produce.
Dauntless Entering Free Open Beta Next Month
Free-to-play monster hunting RPG Dauntless will begin its open beta on May 24, 2018, developer Phoenix Labs announced today.
While Dauntless will be free when it enters open beta, as well as when it officially releases, closed beta access has been behind a paywall since last September in the form of three Founder's Packs, the cheapest of which costs $40. These packs will no longer be available for purchase once the open beta begins.
For the uninitiated: Dauntless is an action RPG loosely styled after Monster Hunter. You play as a Slayer and hunt Behemoths, harvesting components for new equipment from their carcasses. While you can hunt alone, hunts are designed to be played in teams of four.
Destiny 2’s Next Expansion, Warmind, is Coming Next Month
Today Bungie announced Destiny 2's next expansion will be called Warmind, and will arrive on May 8 with the start of Season Three.
Bungie made the reveal in an official Developer Roadmap post, and said the expansion "will send you to new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies. You’ll earn new loot and master new activities." The post didn't offer any further details about Warmind, but said a reveal stream on April 24 would tell us more.
The roadmap also broke down what we can expect from Destiny 2 through the summer. Notably, "Weapon Slot Changes" and "Weapon Randomization" are on the schedule for September, which are sure to make a lot of players happy. You can take a closer look at that in the image below:
