Written & Drawn by Various
"It's not every day you see a major superhero comic reach 1000 issues. DC really pulled out all the stops with Action Comics #1000, which also marks the 80th anniversary of the Man of Steel's debut. This issue features some of the biggest names ever to work at DC Comics, along with the DC debut of a writer who's spent the past 20 years building a career at Marvel. The result is an oversized special crammed with new content. Just don't expect a great amount of depth out of these short, nostalgic stories." -Jesse
Dark Souls 3 Cut Content Suggests a Different Final Boss
It seems that Soul of Cinder may not originally have been the final antagonist in FromSoftware's Dark Souls 3, with that role seemingly originally meant for Pontiff Sulyvahn.
Lance McDonald, a self-professed "Video Game Engineer for fun", has been busily working through the game's code to uncover its secrets, and seems to have uncovered not only a different final boss, but also an entirely different arena for the game's final battle, with code indicating that the fight was originally meant to take place in an unreleased version of the Untended Graves, as opposed to the Kiln of the First Flame.

Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass Announced
Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced Serious Sam 4: Project Badass, currently only listed for release on Steam.
Revealed at the Reboot Develop conference this morning, there's not much to see beyond a teaser trailer, below:
We can infer a little, however. The footage looks to come from an in-game engine (see the slight graphical glitch on the flowers on the left side of the screen at 0:17), and the focus on travelling across the landscape could suggest an open world approach.
The logo also shows a silhouetted Sam surrounded by 8 other figures, which might suggest multiple playable characters, or a multiplayer element.
Croteam says we won't hear more about the game until E3 2018.
Homeland to End With Season 8
Showtime's tentpole series Homeland is set to conclude with the upcoming eighth season.
According to Deadline, series star Claire Danes revealed the news during an interview on The Howard Stern Show. The host asked Danes if the drama would come to a conclusion after Season 8, to which she responded, "Yeah, that's right." She went on to say that she's "really conflicted" about the show coming to an end.
"I mean, I'll be ready. She's a lot, this Carrie-freakin' Mathison character," Danes told Stern. "It's a workout, so I'll be ready for a reprieve from that."
The series' end date shouldn't come as much of a shock as showrunner Alex Gansa has long been outspoken about his thoughts that Carrie Mathison's story – as well as his run on the series – would come to a close at the end of the eighth season.
New PUBG Map Goes Underground With Large Cave System
The new PlayerUnknown's Battelgrounds Map will feature underground passageways.
A blog post on the game's Steam page explains the new map, currently known as Codename: Savage, will continue to be developed while available for play, and part of this will include adding an underground cave system which can be parachuted into via a large entry point on the map.
Players will then be able to exit the cave network via several tunnels and exits offering different possibilities for using this new terrain in play.
The team found inspiration for this new addition, which they believe will set this map apart from the first two, during their trip to Thailand at the Phraya Nakhon Cave outside of Bangkok.
Everything You Need to Know About Platinum’s New Game: World of Demons
Earlier today IGN ran its first look at World of Demons, the latest project from PlatinumGames – an Android/iOS samurai action game that will be published by DeNA. That feature covers off key information about gameplay, art direction and story, as well as giving my hands-on impressions, but I figured you might also like to hear from some of the people that have been working on this game for the last three-odd years.
The quotes below are pulled from interviews, presentations and conversations that took place while I was at Platinum, and include a pretty wide range of people. To quickly introduce them, there's: Atsushi Inaba (Executive Vice President and Studio Head), Masaki Yamanaka (PlatinumGames Head of Game Design and World of Demons Creative Director), Andrew Szymanski (World of Demons Producer and Product Owner), Kento Koyama (PlatinumGames Lead Game Designer/World of Demons Co-director), Yasutaka Maeki (Environment Artist) and Hiroshi Yamaguchi (Music Composer).
Fortnite: Battle Royale Dev on Potential for New Maps
A fresh map for Fortnite: Battle Royale isn’t high on the agenda at the moment, according to Fortnite: Battle Royale design lead Eric Williamson.
While parts of Fortnite’s vast audience continue to speculate about the possibly of new maps, and competing battle royale juggernaut PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the process of adding its third map, Williamson said there’s no currently no rush to add another map.
“We’ve talked a bit about this internally,” Williamson explained to IGN’s Expert Mode. “We just had the big map update and we learned a lot through that process.”
“There’s no urgency for us to create a new map right now. It’s not a priority right now, whereas continuing to evolve and make the map feel fresh is something we’re very excited and interested about. So stay tuned; we have some interesting ideas.”
