Core Pokemon RPG Coming to Nintendo Switch 2019

The Pokemon Company announced that the next installment of its core Pokemon RPG series is arriving in late 2019 on the Nintendo Switch. This core game, which was teased last year at E3, is not to be confused with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee.

“Now today I can only tell you of it’s existence, but it’s another game we’re pouring all of our creativity into" said longtime Pokemon director, producer, and composer Junichi Masuda, who is directing the title.

Everything We Know About Pokemon Quest for Nintendo Switch

Pokemon Quest was officially revealed today alongside Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. Both are for the Nintendo Switch, but Pokemon Quest is available to download, for free, today worldwide on the Nintendo eShop. The new Pokemon adventure will be available for free on mobile in late June.

Described as a “rambunctious expedition RPG” by developer Game Freak, Pokemon Quest features cube-ified Pokemon called Pokexel adventuring on the island of Tumblecube, where everything is a cube. It features only the first generation of Pokemon for now.

Goodbye, Roseanne. It’s for the Best

Roseanne Barr, the racist, has gotten Roseanne, the revived hit ABC sitcom, cancelled after just one season back on the air. It’s a shame, as the original show is a classic and the premise of the new season had the potential to build on that legacy in a manner it was uniquely suited for. But considering how the show’s return panned out creatively during its nine-episode run this spring, and given its star’s outbursts in the real world, the series’ demise is for the best. (For more on what Roseanne tweeted, head here.)

The fact that Barr -- and the writers behind the new season, which debuted to crazy-good ratings last March -- had chosen to make their eponymous character a Trump supporter brought all kinds of publicity to the show, positive, negative, and everywhere in between. But if there was ever a sitcom ideally positioned to depict the current climate of political and cultural division in the U.S., it was Roseanne.

Andrew Lincoln Leaving The Walking Dead in Season 9?

The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln will reportedly depart the AMC series by the end of Season 9.

Collider has heard that by the time the series' ninth season comes to a close, the actor who plays Rick Grimes will no longer be a part of the show. According to the outlet, Lincoln's character will appear in six episodes of Season 9, which is in line with a similar report from Deadline.

Meanwhile, it doesn't look like Norman Reedus will be leaving AMC's post-apocalyptic zombie show anytime soon. Us Weekly has heard the actor signed a $20 million contract to remain on the show, and Collider reports Daryl Dixon is expected to become the show's new lead.

Is Bethesda Teasing a Fallout Remaster or a New New Vegas?

Early this morning, Bethesda's Twitter account posted a very obviously Fallout-related tease to an upcoming announcement. The way I see it, there are three possibilities for where this tease could be going:

My initial reaction, and the safe bet, is that the colorization of the traditionally black-and-white “Please Stand By” screen is a reference to taking something old and making it look modern, as was done with the colorization of old movies. That points to a remaster, which would either be an updated version of Fallout 3 for modern consoles (including the Switch) or an HD version of Fallout 1 and 2. Much as I love it, I doubt we’ll see a Fallout: New Vegas remaster before Fallout 3, since Fallout 3 is Bethesda’s baby and the Obsidian-developed New Vegas is more of a redheaded stepchild. But if it is a Fallout 3 remaster and it sells well, a New Vegas remaster would be an inevitably.

Did Solo Make the Millennium Falcon Horrifying?

SPOILER WARNING: Important plot points from Solo: A Star Wars Story lie ahead.

Solo: A Star Wars Story tells the story of a young Han Solo, and how almost everything we know about him came together over the course of one rollicking, Western-themed adventure. But there are a few unexpected surprises that pop up over the course of this new movie, and one of them probably doesn’t come across the way the filmmakers intended, because it transforms a beloved piece of Star Wars iconography into something which, if you think about it, is pretty disturbing.

Say what you will about Solo: A Star Wars Story (and people are saying a lot), but let’s give credit to this Star Wars interquel for discussing a subject that most of the other films in the franchise have alluded to but never completely confronted.
