Xbox E3 Week Sale Announced, Includes Xbox One X Discount
Microsoft will slash prices on Xbox One consoles, games and more to celebrate E3.
In a post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft announced that — from June 7 to 23 — there will be discounts on games, accessories, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.
Every Xbox One will be $50 off during this sale, including the Xbox One X, which has never been discounted before. This will bring the Xbox One X to $449, Xbox One S 1 TB bundles to $249, and the 500 GB Xbox One S to $199.
There will be up to 75 percent off certain games and first-time discounts on over 300 games, such as Monster Hunter: World, Assassin's Creed Origins, Sea of Thieves, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. However, if you are looking to pick up Sea of Thieves, you may also want to simply play it via Xbox Game Pass and use Xbox Live Gold with a limited-time introductory offer of $1 for the first month each.
Xbox One Reportedly Getting Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant Support
Microsoft is reportedly looking to add Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant functionality to Xbox One.
Windows Central received a photo showing digital assistant support for Xbox One. And this is on top of the site hearing from sources that Microsoft was bringing Alexa compatibility to the console.
While Xbox One does feature Cortana, Microsoft discontinued Kinect last year. And then earlier this year, the company stopped production on the Kinect adapter for Xbox One S and X. So Alexa and Google Assistant functionality would offer more options for voice controls on Xbox One.
Lords of the Fallen 2 Gets New Developer, Out of Hiatus
Lords of the Fallen 2 has finally found a development partner in New York-based Defiant Studios.
CI Games has partnered with Defiant Studios - founded by the former head of Avalanche Studios New York office (the team behind Just Cause 3), David Grijns, to develop the sequel to 2014's Lords of the Fallen.
"We talked to a number of globally respected studios that had shown a strong interest in making the next LotF, and received several solid pitches. We finally decided to move forward with Defiant because we were impressed with their game concept, production expertise, and the pedigree of their developers,” said CI Games Chief Executive Officer, Marek Tymiński.
“Defiant is made up of some the industry’s most talented creators, and we are thrilled to have them create the sequel to LotF. We look forward to bringing their next big game to the global market on consoles and PC.”
