Ant-Man and the Wasp Villain Ghost Has “Similar Goal” to the Heroes
I was among the members of the press invited last September to the Atlanta set of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp. While the filmmakers and cast were understandably guarded about discussing certain aspects of the film, they did reveal some key new details, particularly about the Quantum Realm.
There was one character in particular that proved nearly impossible to get much information about: the film's antagonist Ghost, played by Tomb Raider and Ready Player One actress Hannah John-Kamen.
In the Marvel Comics, Ghost wore a specially designed suit that allows him -- yes, the character was male in the books but has been changed to female in the movie -- to phase through walls or become invisible. Ghost uses those abilities to commit acts of corporate espionage and terrorism, with the goal of punishing businessmen who abuse their wealth. But what of her motivations in the movie? No one would say.
PUBG Event Pass Met with Huge Player Backlash
The fanbase for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds isn't happy.
Yesterday, the PUBG Corp. revealed PUBG would get its first Event Pass this Friday on PC with the new map Sanhok. The Event Pass will be a timed event in which players can earn limited-edition customization items. If it sounds a lot like Fortnite's Battle Pass, that's because it is. And like Fortnite's Battle Pass, PUBG's Event Pass will cost $10.
But there's been a backlash to the Event Pass.
On social media and Reddit, fans have blasted the game's developers for what they see as greedy business practices and failing to deliver an improved experience.
Ex-Burnout Director Announces 2 Burnout-Like Games
Three Fields Entertainment, led by Criterion Games founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry, has announced Danger Zone 2 and Dangerous Driving. Both titles will be arriving on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and look to be spiritual successors to the beloved Burnout franchise.
Danger Zone 2, sequel to 2017's Danger Zone, allows players to take their crashing antics out of the "Test Area" of the first game and onto public roads, including "the Freeways of the USA, the Motorways of the UK and the Autovias of Spain."
Furthermore, There will be "23 of the world's most notorious accident blackspots set in 17 unique locations around the world."
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Is Probably Harder Than Bloodborne
Fans of the infamously challenging Bloodborne and Dark Souls games won't have to worry about developer FromSoftware going easy on them with its next game. In fact, it turns out Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is likely to be even more difficult than those games.
"We think the level of enjoyment is going to really vary and be very broad from player to player," FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki told GameSpot. "If you are that player who likes to take their time and carefully piece things together and learn the enemies' weaknesses and positioning, and observe everything, you're going to have a great time.

Capcom Reportedly Exploring More Cloud-Based Games for Switch
Resident Evil 7 was the first but probably not last cloud-based game to come to Nintendo Switch from Capcom.
The Wall Street Journal reports Capcom is exploring other games to release as streaming titles on Switch. Last month, the company launched Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: Cloud Version for the hybrid system — check out IGN's hands-on with the game — though the rental is only currently available in Japan.
Nintendo Now Permanently Banning Switch Users With Illegal Games
Nintendo is cracking down on Switch piracy with new security measures that can "perfectly detect" whether a game has been installed illegally.
Redditor SciresM, who broke down the new anti-piracy measures, says that when you go online with the Switch, "Nintendo can detect whether or not the user connecting has data from a Nintendo-authorised gamecard for the correct title." If your game is legitimate, your console retrieves a unique certification (or ticket) to allow you to play the title online.
If you're caught with a pirated game cartridge, your game cartridge will be banned for online use and you could be potentially permanently banned from the Nintendo Network. Digital pirated games appear to automatically trigger a ban.

It was another big week for the comic book industry, especially for writer Dan Slott. Marvel published Slott's final issue of Amazing Spider-Man and the first chapter of his new Iron Man series. DC. meanwhile, moved closer to Batman and Catwoman's wedding with an excellent new issue of Batman.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was put on grand display at E3 2018, revealing that every fighter in the history of the fighting franchise will be included on the roster.
