Robert Zemeckis to Direct New Version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches
Robert Zemeckis is set to direct a new version of Roald Dahl's classic children's book The Witches for Warner Bros.
Variety confirms Zemeckis is in final negotiations with the studio to direct the flick, which was last adapted in 1990 by Nicholas Roeg and starred Anjelica Huston. Zemeckis will write the script with his partner Jack Rapke. Rapke will co-produce along with Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro, the latter of whom was originally attached to direct, but had to step down due to scheduling conflicts.
The Witches focuses on a 7-year-old boy and his grandmother who run into real-life witches while staying in a hotel in England. Variety's sources say that Zemeckis' adaptation will be closer to its source material than the (still absolutely terrifying) 1990 original was.

Resident Evil 2 Producers on the Classic Scenes You’ll See in the Remake
Kicking off in a rodent’s point-of-view, Resident Evil 2’s bait-and-switch trailer was a delightful surprise this E3. As I walk into an interview room at Capcom’s E3 booth, producers Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and Tsuyoshi Kanda hold up a soft toy version of the rat we saw in the trailer, and speak in a cartoonish high-pitch: “hello, my name is Kevin!”
It was an equally delightful start to the interview with the producers, two long-time Resident Evil 2 fans who decided to begin work on the remake three years ago with the intention of building something that touched their hearts, but also served as an accessible introduction to newcomers. “As a team, as a whole, we wanted to make something that was familiar and fresh at the same time,” said Hirabayashi. “That it would retrace the beats of the original game whilst also bringing something new.”

The first video doesn't even fully go through the events of the first game in the franchise. This initial look back is primarily focused on the origins of series protagonist Sora's origins as a keyblade wielder, his attempts to rescue his friends from darkness, and the beginning of his battle with Ansem.

New Rick and Morty Seasons Will Come More Quickly
New Rick and Morty seasons will now be arriving a lot more quickly.
Speaking to Polygon, co-creator Justin Roiland explained the show's recent big renewal will allow him and fellow co-creator Dan Harmon to be more consistent with delivering new episodes.
The wait between Season 2 and 3 was around 18 months. But after the hit animated series was renewed for 70 more episodes earlier in May following a delay, Roiland and Harmon now have job security for the first time.

The comic (which is set in between the events of the first and second games) is currently chronicling a massive confrontation between the Green Lantern Corps and Atrocitus' Red Lanterns.
