Indiana Jones 5 Gets a New Release Date

Disney has officially set a release date of July 9, 2021 for Indiana Jones 5.

This is almost exactly one year later than its prior release date of July 10, 2020. Though we knew this wasn't going to stick, it wasn't until today Disney gave it an exact date.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has made other changes to its release calendar as well, announcing that Jungle Cruise is set to release on October 11, 2019 and Maleficent 2 is coming May 29, 2020. Marry Poppins Returns is also getting a slight date adjustment, moving up a week to December 19, 2018 from its initial Christmas Day release.

Titans, Young Justice, Doom Patrol Fan Experience Announced for Comic-Con

DC Universe will host an interactive fan experience during Comic-Con featuring Titans, Young Justice, and more.

The event will include a variety of installations and activities based on DC Universe's upcoming new shows. You'll be able to explore Dick Grayson's Titans loft and experience Dr. Niles Caulders creations in the Doom Patrol lab.

The mystical swamps of Swamp Thing, the Young Justice Watchtower, and Harley Quinn's chaos room will also be featured. Fans will get to explore the sewers and The Court of Owls with Batman as well. There will also be a public unveiling of rare artwork and memorabilia

The event will be open from July 19-22 and will take place across the street from the San Diego Convention Center at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter.

New Netflix Animated Series From Avatar: The Last Airbender Writer Announced

Netflix has announced an all-new animated original series, titled The Dragon Prince.

The Dragon Prince, created by Aaron Ehasz (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Justin Richmond, tells the story of "two human princes who forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands," according to a press release from Netflix.

Nintendo Wants to Help Publishers Incorporate Cross-Play

One of the most hot-button topics at E3 last month was cross-play: Nintendo and Microsoft allow it; Sony doesn't. In a recent investor call, Nintendo reiterated its desire to help third-party publishers incorporate cross-play into their Nintendo Switch games.

An investor on the call asked Nintendo about how cross-play has helped increase the popularity of Fortnite and Minecraft on Switch, wanting to know what sort of initiatives Nintendo had in place for bringing this feature to other multiplatform games. Nintendo Managing Director and former president Tatsumi Kimishima declined the opportunity to comment on particular third-party games.

Amy Hennig Doesn’t Blame EA For Canceling Visceral’s Star Wars Game

During a fireside chat at the Gamelab conference in Barcelona, Amy Hennig said she doesn't hold EA at fault for canceling Visceral's Star Wars game.

The chat, the full transcript of which has been provided by Venture Beat, was between Uncharted's Amy Hennig, Sony's Mark Cerny, and The Game Awards' Geoff Keighley.

Late into the chat, an audience member fielded Hennig a question relating to EA allegedly pulling the plug on the Star Wars game she was working on at Visceral Games because it was single-player: "There was quite a dilemma a few months ago about EA and this question of whether single-player games are 'dead.' What do you think about that?"

New Hearthstone Expansion Release Date and Theme Announced

Hearthstone’s next card expansion will be launching on August 7 and be called The Boomsday Project.

Themed around mechs and led by one of Hearthstone’s most infamous characters, Dr. Boom, The Boomsday Project will add 135 new cards, as well as a new single-player puzzle mode called The Puzzle Lab.

Here’s a look at some newly revealed cards:

For the first time ever, each class will be getting a legendary spell card -- you can see the Rogue’s in the gallery above. A new keyword, Magnetic, is also being introduced, allowing players to merge mech minions to combine their stats and abilities.

Fired Guild Wars 2 Writer Says Former Employer Was ‘Highly Unprofessional’

Less than a week after being fired for a Twitter dispute with a partnered streamer, a fired Guild Wars 2 writer is speaking out.

In an interview with Polygon, Jessica Price addressed Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet's decision to fire her and fellow writer Peter Fries.

“I was given no opportunity to argue my case,” she told Polygon. “

spent some time insisting that developers must be friends with the company’s customers, and that it was unacceptable to say that we aren’t, even when we’re not on the clock. He told me I’d look back and regret this, because we were doing great work and I’d ruined it. The whole thing was highly unprofessional.”

Stan Lee Drops $1 Billion Lawsuit Against POW! Entertainment

Stan Lee has dropped his $1 billion lawsuit against POW! Entertainment, a company he co-founded.

Per THR, Lee released an official statement announcing the lawsuit has now been dropped. Lee was suing POW! on the grounds that the company and two of its officers stole his name and likeness to sell POW! to a Chinese company, saying the terms were never disclosed to him.

Lee also accused POW! CEO Shane Duffy and co-founder Gill Champion of fraudulently obtaining a document in which Lee gave over exclusive rights to his likeness and identity to the company.

YouTube Pledges $25 Million to Fight Against Fake News

YouTube announced Monday an initiative they're launching to commit $25 million in support of legitimate news organizations. They will also roll out a new feature to flag misinformation on the platform, as well as the ability to highlight reliable news sources.

YouTube has encountered multiple incidents where fake news has circulated on their platform in recent months. They decided the next step is to take action against false information by supporting trusted journalistic organizations on YouTube and educating users on how to use their best judgment when spotting false information in the digital age.

Dead Cells Launching on PC and Console Next Month

Indie roguelite/Metroidvania mashup Dead Cells will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux on August 7 for $24.99, developer Motion Twin announced today.

Motion Twin released the below trailer alongside the release date announcement. The trailer showcases plenty of sidescrolling hack-and-slash action as well as a quick glimpse at Dead Cells' upgrade system and some of its Metroidvania-style hidden areas.

Dead Cells is available for preorder right now on all platforms except Nintendo Switch, which will begin preorders on July 18. Anyone who preorders one of the console versions will get a 20 percent discount, bringing the price down to $19.99. Motion Twin noted that this discount will end when Dead Cells launches, so gamers have a little under a month to take advantage of it.
